Like the pig on the cover (we are not related) this CD brings home the bacon or in this case the Schmaltz. Oy a Jewish Jimmy Buffett... Seinfeld, Will & Grace, Dharma & Greg, The Nanny, Dick Van Dyke Show, and Carol Burnett Show all have something in common with "Don't Eat Pork". They use Yiddish words that became American slang as common as the bagel. Each Yiddish word is punch line to a hilarious comic bit. With "Don't Eat Pork," "Don't Ogle My Kugel" and "Bupkus Blues"a Yiddish word is a set up for a hilarious song. The lyrics are the "bit" These songs are NOT parodies of other artists songs, they are original. The Alter Rocker wrote songs for some of the music industry biggest artists.

    When I first heard this CD I was suprised. It is do different from the usual Jewish Music. It is the bomb. I played it for friends and we laughed so hard. Several months later my little brother was starting to study for Bar Mitzvah so I played the Bar Mitzvah songs. It got him inspired, he was on with the hook up. This Rocker guy performed songs from this CD and his other CD American Jew at the LA Israeli Festival in May they were as good live as the CD. Hook up your peeps

    We laughed and laughed listening to the funny stuff on this "Pork" CD. We shared it with friends and now when ever I we phone each other we always sing a few bars of the Kougle song and laugh. It always makes my day. Such sillyness. I purchased this and Jeff Janning's more serious work American Jew and gave them as Bos Mitzvah gifts to my sister daughter. She loved them both. Needless to say I was pleased. Great gifts.
