Jeff Greer Band History/Bio
If you want you know this band's history you're gonna have to wait until the VH1 Behind the Music, because, let's face it... we need to live in the now!!!! What are we doing now? This is what really matters. Where I was born or what other bands I played in have nothing to do with the now... just the then. So let's focus on the now of what we are doing and not the then of what we used to do. Who cares!!!!!
A rock band with no electric guitars? And a loud one at that! Believe it! If you don't know what I am talking about then you probably still watch black and white TV. The jeff greer band, or jgb for short, is exactly that. Loud but emotional; Energetic and dynamic; Moving... all over the stage (and crowd). But no electric guitars, what then... keyboards? My goodness NOOO!!!! If you like keyboards you will hate this band! Two driving acoustic guitars front this energy filled, 4-piece powerhouse. Melodic bass and intense, methodical drumming bring up the rear. Powerful, passionate vocals top off this combination to make the perfect match. But wait there's more! Add a little bit of celtic flavor to keep it historic and voila... you have been invited to EXPERIENCE the CELTERNATIVE.
Live meets Green Day meets Rusted Root meets the Pogues. Take them all to a party, get them all drunk, put them on stage together and make them play a song and you would probably get a bunch of noise that didn't make much sense. But, put them all in a blender, set it for puree and guzzle it down, it would probably taste a lot like jeff greer band. I don't recommend you try this at home, but I do recommend that you heed the curiosity that has piqued you and buy the cd. And please... listen carelessly and with reckless abandon

author: LaurieI saw these guys @ Howards Pub in Outer Banks of NC, and they tore the place up!! bought shirts necklaces, cds, and got free stickers for helping them set up!! also caught the drummers broken stick (he broke it during an awsome srumming solo in "drunken sailor") and he signed it for me!! basically do yourself a favour, pick this cd up!!

author: emeraldthey kick butt, we would go to hear them in virgina at the white horse and that is where we got the cd, at the time I was preguant, now my son is 14 months and loves to dance all over to it, they rock!!! a wonderfull new sound!!!!

Great Band. They are going to be big. I've seen them a number of times and I've always had a great time. I wondered how their sound would translate onto CD, but I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I was blown away! The same spirited feeling that they give in their show rolls right over onto media. I'm really looking forward to see this group get big because they deserve it. I live far away from any venue JGB plays at, but I proudly display their sticker on my car and play their music at all my get-togethers. Everyone that I know really enjoys their music. I highly recommend buying the CD and, if possible, going to one of their shows! ))CHRIS((

author: WilliamI caught this band live in VA beach last month (March). They were so energetic and fun to watch. I thought to myself "I should be seeing these guy's at the colosium up in Hampton" The CD is of the best quality and profesionalism in artistic imagry. I have fallen in love with these guys much like I did with Dave Mathews Band a few years ago, and we can see where they are now. Thanks for the great music, I will see you soon.
