notes
From Orange County California, singer/songwriter Jeff Caudill began his musical endeavors straight out of high school as singer/guitarist for influential emo-pop-punk quartet Gameface. In their thirteen year career they released five albums and a handful of singles and blanketed the U.S and Europe, earning a dedicated following.
"Leave it to lead guitarist/vocalist Jeff Caudill to come up with another strong batch of songs... his uncommonly emotive vocal presence gives Gameface an approach unparalleled in its field." - The Big Takeover
His loyal fanbase identifies most with, "Jeff's sincere vocals and lyrics with the perfect blend of indie pop, melodic rock and subtle country twang..." - Impact Press
"Caudill comes through with winning, heart-on-sleeve urgency and sincerity that can call to mind Bob Mould, Live or Pearl Jam." - Los Angeles Times
Two years after the demise of the band, 2005 finds Jeff Caudill settling into his groove as a songwriter and leaves no stone unturned on his first proper solo album "HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO", which reflects his influences from alt. country to indie rock to power pop.

Another Southern California veteran who gets better with age.
author: Andrew JacobsDomesticity, parenthood and hitting the 30s have done nothing to slow the former Gameface frontman down and this CD is proof positive of that. Catchy tunes with plenty of hook-laden melodies and down to earth lyrics clearly illustrate that this Southern California veteran gets better and better with age.
touching and emotional solo release from former punk rock icon
author: fredAt first listen I was put to sleep by track 4. Upon further listens it really, really grew on me like a good mold. Nice lyrics about life, people, states and emotions from the heart. Could have used a few more rockers but overall a nice effort from jeff. His next release should probably be the one to catapult him to the big time.
Power-pop perfection
author: Nick QuantrillIf evidence was ever needed that old punks don’t die, they transform into singer-songwriters with an itch to scratch, Jeff Caudill personifies this. Caudill’s trump-card is his ability to craft instantly memorable songs that swing with an outrageously catchy hook. Combing this rare quality with a dash of great American acts like The Lemonheads and Jesse Malin, as well as adding a touch of Elvis Costello, this debut full length release is all the more rich and engaging for it. Whether writing about his days in Gameface or from personal experience, Caudill is always quick to deliver with an insightful comment or a playful quip. On ‘Here’s What You Should Do’, Jeff Caudill has continued to evolve musically to produce an album full of emotive music that has real heart. It’s his unique spin on combining power-pop, country and indie-rock that makes for such vibrant and exciting listening.
Here's a guy with so much up his sleeve!
author: Eric CabreraHere’s What You Should Do is Jeff Caudill’s hand. His self-portrait . His diary. It’s beautiful, playful, earnest, and poignant piece of art. It’s more than a hybrid of post-modern expression. Not just pop. Not just rock. He reaches back to listeners that reach out. This record is very meticulous and structured record that a new or old listener one will be struck hard by its capacity. This is art, because it doesn’t just go for lullaby’s and posturing sentimentality. It’s music from someone who loves music.
One of my favorite voices just got better!
author: Russell HammondI've been enjoying Jeff's music since the early 90s when he was the lead singer of Gameface (I saw them play in a basement show in Virginia) and I have to say that this album is, without a doubt, his best work to date. He's always had a very unique way of storytelling that is very inviting to the listener, and now that he has broadened his musical scope the result is absolute perfection. Standout tracks: Favorite Version Of Your Life, Nite Lite, Getaway Car, My Side Of The Bridge.
Really great material from a really great songwriter
author: Brian MelvilleThis Cd is the best Jeff Caudill material to date.I was surprised at just how amazing this cd is.Start to finish this is a hands down winner in my book. From the slow heartfelt stuff to the more upbeat numbers I have not taken it out of rotation for 4 weeks now, and it gets better evey single time.Jeff rules!
It's not Gameface, but it's just as good.
author: Alex FaberIt took me a while to get into this CD, as it wasn't exactly what I had expected. Rather than the propulsive, pop-punk of Gameface, this CD contains softer rock inflected with country. However, I did expect good things from Jeff, and he delivered on this album. Aside from the instantly catchy and mesmerizing "Nite Lite" and "Stop Writing Songs," there are quirky stunners like "Crazy People Do" and gentle, moving songs such as "Change Everything" and "I Just Disappear." Jeff's a good guy, and once again he ably demonstrates his talent and heart on this CD.
