notes
Jean-Paul had already known Barry Billman, the recording engineer as well as band member for quite a long time. Back in the middle 80s, Billman recorded a 45(a small vinyl disk with a large hole in the middle that had to be played on a record player) that Jean-Paul produced for a bunch of musicians known at the time as “X-Static”.
After that, Jean-Paul got hooked up with two other musicians and made the CD “Things to Hear, New & Improved”. Jean-Paul and the guitar player got into an argument(over something that had nothing to do with the CD)during the middle of the recording, and that joker quit the band.
Barry Billman then recommended using John “Catfish” Evans as a hired gun to finish the CD. That worked out real well. Evans saved the day and the CD album was completed. This was about the year 2001.
Well, Catfish and Jean-Paul touched bases over the years, but never worked together on any project. Then, in the middle of 2005, Catfish approached Jean-Paul with a request to produce a How-To video on the B3. Somehow, by September of 2005 Jean-Paul, Catfish, and Barry Billman ended up starting work on Leisure with Dignity.
And of course, the rest is history in the making.
