notes
I've been a musician in the Portland, Oregon area for about 20 years. My main instrument is my voice but I've been playing guitar and piano since I was young.
This CD is a compilation of what I think of as the best recordings I've done over the years of my career. I wrote or co-wrote half of the tunes and most of the other half were written by local musicians. I love vocal harmonies and have used them generously throughout this CD.
I started singing in the Portland area in the early 80's when bars were full and had musicians performing 6 or 7 nights a week, plus happy hour. There were some months I was working 9 jobs a week, being at one place for happy hour 4 days a week and then performing late at night 5 nights a week. Those were great days.
Everything changed when the drinking laws changed or maybe the majority of us got older and didn't want to stay up until 2 a.m. By about the mid 90's, my hours were from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00p.m, three days a week. A much saner environment to play music in, but not as lucrative. Now I only play in non-smoking environments.
It's been a great job and it's given me a venue to record and share my music with lots of people.
Hope you enjoy the CD.

A really great cd that you will not get tired of.
author: JamesThis is a really great compilation of songs that is a nice change from today's rock bands. I personally think that this is one of the few cd's that don't get irritating after a while. Listen to a sample to see what I mean.
That voice . . . .
author: FischmanWhat an entrancing voice. It's as if Karen Carpenter morphed with all the great folk singers of the 70s. Not every song is a winner, but out of the 12, you've got enough great ones to make this a must have for any lover of beautiful vocal performances.
