notes
Jay D Henley was born in a small farming community in Mt Airy Maryland where he spent most of his time milking cows when he was old enough to work.He was always a music lover and knew he wanted to be a singer the first time he took the stage in a local talent contest and won. He entered every contest he could and soon got involved with a band. It was then he started getting the itch to write his own songs. He decide to record some of these songs and make his own cd to sell. After recording the cd he formed what is known now as the StoneBrokeBand. He joined the Nashville song writer's association and through them got turned onto a song writers seminar held every year in Nashville,TN. So he took his songs down there and performed and was heard by a reputable music publisher. This publisher invited Jay back to town and introduced him to one of his staff writers Thom Shepherd. Jay started writing with Thom and through this connection met other writers like Jeff Batson and lance miller and before he knew it he was in the loop. One of the writers he met was Charlie Craig who wrote hits for Alan Jackson,Aron Tippin, and lorrie Morgan to name a few. Charlie was getting into the production buisness and decided to produce a project on Jay and is currently trying to get him a recording contract. So keep your fingers crossed for this great singer songwriter. Just pick up a copy of his latest record ''Perfectly Normal'' and you'll hear just what we're talking about.

perfectly perfect
author: Marie France SIMONlove this CD. It's real country music to me. Hope to see you on stage one day, but... as I'm leaving in France....
Extraordinaire!
author: ChristyI saw JD's show at a fair in Maryland while in vacation and bought his CD there.. That's one thing I never had regrets about because all the songs on it are real good. So good that I am buying another one after mine was stolen.. I would love to see another one of his shows but being from Quebec Canada it is not easy.. I still don't understand how come with the talents he's got that we don't hear him on the radio more often..
Perfectly fabulous!!!
author: Mary ChapmanI'm not what you'd call a country music fan. I was raised on Top 40 and earn a small living singing classical. But I'm a fan now...or, at least, a fan of Jay D. Henley. One of the first things I noticed was that this band is tight. I mean, the blend, the harmonization, the connection--they're all there. The very, very first thing I noticed was Jay's voice--fantastic! Whiskey-smooth and full of depth. Every emotion is there, from adoration in "Perfectly Normal" to poignancy in "Mamma's Room" to joy in "You're the Reason." This boy knows how to sing! I consider myself lucky in purchasing this CD. It was recommended to me when I was buying another CD, and I thought, "What the heck?" One of the best purchases I've ever made. Jay D. Henley and his band are headed for great things, and I can't wait to see them hit the big time. I've already recommended this CD to several of my friends--it's just a matter of time till they become fans, too.
The Best! Love tracks 1,2,7...but they are all really good!
author: StewThis guy has talent written all over him! One of the best new up and coming artists that I have heard in quite awhile. Bought one for both my friend and I. You should get one too, and tell all your friends, lets see this guy make it famous!
great country music and lyrics
author: Judy RockeyThis CD is great! Good blend of tempos and instruments. I bought two of these CD's and know my daughter will enjoy it as much as I have. There is a hint of George Strait in Jay's voice and that is a good thing!!!!!!!
ED CLINTON!

I have now played Jay D Henley's CD over and over again at home and I must say this is a real great album. It kicks off with an uptempo song and goes on in different styles of traditional modern country. If I have to pick some favourite songs: "If This Is Love I Think I Like It", Love You Back To Texas", "Bad Reputation", "Turned It Around", Mamma's Room" (a wonderful ballad, this one is alone worth the price of the CD!) Jay D Henley is a very good singer and the backing is real country, you can hear steel guitar, fiddle and banjo in a perfect mix. This CD presents country music the way it always should be sung and played. If you like traditional country with a modern twang, do yourself a favor and grab this CD before it's too late. Jay D Henley deserve to be heard and played. I will give this CD airplay on my radio show, count on that!
