notes
This is JC's second release (the first being "Tumbleweed Troubadour") and is another strong effort by this singer-songwriter originally from Lubbock, Texas. JC now lives in the Pacific Northwest, but his Texas roots are proudly reflected in this collection of songs about love, life, and intriguing, sometimes quirky, characters.
JC has spent the last few years as the president of the Portland Songwriters Association and has enjoyed mentoring new, developing songwriters. He is well respected in the songwriting community and has won several songwriting awards from the Dallas Songwriters Assoc., UNISONG, and others. His high-energy live performances have entertained and captivated audiences for several years.

Country Comforts
author: The Oregonian NewspaperLocal Songwriter JC Tubbs has a fine, countryfied new album called "Songs in the Key of Tractor" that features players such as Carlton Jackson and Paul Brainard. Tubbs' easygoing baritone is a perfect match for his songs, including his funny and heartfelt tribute to the late, great Dave Carter, "I Want to Be Like Dave." Well, writing good songs and singing 'em like you mean it is definitely a good start.
