He's a fireball of energy whose screaming solos and chunky chord work leave little doubt as to where he stands at all times. Over the top is the best way to describe his emotive playing.

This LA blues rock guitar player is a guy who has everyone else just trying to keep up as he pulls off endless incendiary guitar solos.

This is Gordon's fourth album, with a fifth threatened for 2000 release. here's a guy who attracts guitar players who show up to watch and take notes.

    Electric Redemption is one of the finest blues Cd ever released, his fourth Cd for Blue Ace Records is captivating, innovative an original. Jay Gordon pens his own style thru out this disc with his quick Staccato Attacks & Tasty Blends this guy has it all. His Slide Guitar Playing is also Top Shelf second to none.... Check Out--- Drippin Blues/Lucky 13. Message to Collins is so pure that Jays strat sounds like it would Break Glass. I have read reviews on Jay Gordon in various trade magazines. This Cat is the Real Deal, his old fans & new listeners should go back & listen to his old work cause one day Jay Gordon will be the Leader of the Pack. You can hear shades of Jimi Hendrix & Johnny Winter within Jay Gordon but Jay Gordon has taken it further.     Jay Gordon's 4th Blue Ace recording, Electric Redemption, packs the same wallop as his first three and some. Dividing the disc into two sets ("Drippin Blues" and "Savage Resurrection"), Jay Gordon plugs in and lets fly with the sme Chicago Blues abandon that sparked Blues Infested two years ago. "Message to Collins" opens with a hot sustained guitar bend. Jay Gordon tears through the instrumental number,scorching the strings ala Stevie Ray Vaughan or Chris Duarte. "Dripppin Blues" showcases Jay Gordon bottle -neck guitar style,while "Lucky 13" and "Jaybird Stomp" find the Chi-Town native breakin out the boogie. Russ Green (Bass) and Rich Lambert(Drums) are an effective rhythm combo, but the mix on Green's is to subdued. Jay Gordon dedicates the second halp of Redemption to heroes Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. These influences crop up in tracks like "Blues for the Eternal Angels" and powerful "Driving Force."
