Album Notes

What do you get when four individuals combine years of confusion, dissatisfaction, and disappointment in relationships with equal amounts of passion, desire, dedication and love? Crank up the volume and you get Jardsoul. Heavy guitar riffs and a powerful rhythm section provide the backdrop for gorgeous melodies and the voice of Keoni Boyer. Explains Keoni, Our music describes the frustration we all face in relationships, but its not aimed at other people, its aimed at ourselves. We wish we could better communicate with others and the music we play allows us to do that. Jardsoul got it's origins from guitarist James Gillespie and bassist Rob Cornetto who played together in the Long Island band Couch. Building on their love of music and the chemistry between them, they decided to branch off together in 2002 to start a new band. Wanting to play stripped down rock and roll with a progressive mindset, they began the search to find a complimentary singer and drummer. After jamming with many different singers in search of the perfect voice, a mutual friend introduced them to Keoni Boyer (a veteran singer and guitarist of cover bands and various original bands). James knew he was a perfect fit for the band in their first session together. As James describes it, Keoni got the vibe of the band instantly and we knew he would add a key dimension to our song writing not to mention his voice was so amazing and unique, we knew he was our frontman. Keoni joined the band, and in a matter of weeks, they finished 4 songs that James and Rob had written which became the first songs for Jardsoul. After playing with a few different drummers over their first two years, the band decided it was time to lock in a drummer they could grow with. Spencer Peller auditioned with the band in 2005 - and after a couple of sessions together it became obvious that he was the guy. With the bands lineup complete, it was time to hit the scene and play out. CBGBs, Don Hill's, Arlene's Grocery, and Snitch were just a few of the stops on the schedule.
