A critically acclaimed singer/songwriter with top 10 country hits and #1 video has jumped soulfully into the Americana genre, with a sound somewhere between Lucinda Williams and Sheryl Crow, yet very unique.

notes
The insurmountable emotional chasm between the genders proves fine ground for many of the 10 songs on elusive Indiana-born Jann Browne's first U.S. release in six years...
An alumna of the celebrated Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel, she had a handful of solo chart singles on Curb in the early 1990's and has penned songs for the likes of Lee Ann Womack and Joy Lynn White. Yet her voice is a quirky and persuasive instrument that covers the range from edgy alt-country anger to little-girlish peevishness and vulnerability......

-"Missed Me By A Mile" is an absorbing collection of roots rock and country. In my view, it rivals anything by some of the acclaimed leaders in that genre, artists such as Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle.....

Tremendous Talent
author: MyrtleWow, what an utter delight this CD is. Browne's voice is so enticing she literally draws the listener into each song, enveloping her in a mighty delicious sound experience. From the opening track Can't Build a Better Love to The Lonesome Mile she invites us into her world, and what a place that is! Few artists have the courage nor the ability to display so much of their souls in their music. Lucky for us, Browne is capable on both counts. Brave, talented lady. In The Heart You Can't Ignore, she calls herself the sole survivor, the demon you can't ignore. Boy, is she ever right! You cannot ignore this talent. Browne is a one-woman force, a force to be reckoned with. If you enjoy music, REAL music in its pure, uncluttered [Read: non-techno, actual talent involved] form, music combined with a lyrical content to knock yer socks off, then treat yourself to Missed Me By a Mile. Then spread the word. Jann Browne should not be overlooked.
