'Believed' that's the name of the album and that's exactly what he did. Jamie Walters believed he could put out a record of his own power pop / rock songs without the push of a major TV show, major producers or a major record label, just on the strength of the songs and the fact that he, well, believed.

After a #1 song in the U.S. ('How Do You Talk To An Angel' 1992), two successful platinum and gold albums worldwide on Atlantic Records ('Jamie Walters' 1994 and 'Ride' 1997), a two year stint as "Ray Pruit" on Beverly Hills 90210, several sold out International tours, Jamie came to a stop. When he finally set foot back in his Los Angeles home after the whirlwind of promotion, touring, recording, filming and touring some more he was tired. Physically and creatively tired. Touring around the world, in front of hundreds of thousands of screaming fans singing older songs had left him drained.

When Jamie left Beverly Hills 90210 to focus all of his time on his own music, he found he was a square peg being forced into the round hole of a TV pop star. He recall's a funny story from one of his live shows where a teenage girl was holding up a sign that read "Leave Donna Alone" (a reference to the nasty turn his character took on 90210 when he threw his girlfriend Donna (Tori Spelling) down a flight of stairs). At that point his record label didn't know what to do with him or his newly written songs and they decided to part company.

But Jamie believed. In the last few years he had performed, written and recorded with many of the top musicians and producers in Los Angeles. But he believed that if he could finish his own record (Jamie wrote all the music on this new album and produced 10 out of 11 tracks) his fans and the world would get to judge him on his own songs, not what pop hit he would be singing on 90210 that week. That's why you are checking out his new Cd "Believed." 11 songs crafted out of the love, hardship, drive and pain of being in the spotlight and wishing someone would shut it off for awhile....just long enough to finish a song.     I first discovered Jamie Walters when he was guest starring on 90210. I immediately purchased his 1st album when it was released. Here we are over a decade later, and I still listen to "Hold On" regularly. I recently discovered that he has released other albums since, including "Believed". I must say, this album does not disappoint. It brings the same style that I loved from his first album, but with a more "progressed" sound. He has really come a long way since "The Heights", and I hope that he releases another album soon.

Your sound track had problems and you were not allowed to perform because of your manager. For years I told people what a wonderful young man you were but you needed to get rid of that manager or he would destroy you like so many other Hollywood types of that era.     DIE CD Believed ist eindeutig Walters beste Leistung. Die Stücke sind alle sehr unterschiedlich und nicht so abgerundet wie auf den ersten beiden CDs.     ive been a long time fan of Jamie Walters since his first album was released. ive been longing for him to make a new record. and this one is slighty different from the last two. im guessing cause hes not working with the same producers and musicians as he was before. so its got that same style of his but with a new flavor. my fav tracks were Wonderland, 5ive, Marooned, Catch Me, and Superman. over time im sure itll be like the previous albums were i loved and enjoyed every track. all i can say is that i was suprised but not dissapointed.

    'Believed' by Jamie Walters is well worth the five year wait between albums. My favorites are 'Catch Me' and 'Such a Drag' but there are no songs on the CD that I do not like. The sound is different than on his previous two CD's. It has more of a 'free' sound to it, which is because he produced and wrote most of the songs himself. I would reccomend to anyone to buy this CD. Jamie has outdone himself on this CD and I hope to that he keeps 'em coming!

    Well... this cd is so great! I love all the songs! I'm really into this acoustic sound! I bought it some months ago and still think it's the best cd i've ever had! I must admit that i was kind of surprised the first time i heard it cuz this cd is different from Jamie Walters 2 previous cd's.. It isn't so "polished"! More rock and more personality!.. And the greatest voice ever!!! I can listen to the whole cd without doing anything else but listening to the songs- That's what i call quality! My favourite song is "Catch me" cuz it's so touching..! But i love all the songs like Butter, Evilyn, Wonderland and they grow on me every time i hear them! I really respect Jamie for making this cd!! I hope he never stops making music and hope too that he will play it live someday!!

    This cd is amazing from start to finish just like his 2 previous cd's Jamie Walters and Ride. I have been awaiting this cd for a long time and could not be happier. If anyone knows if Jamie will be touring anytime soon please e-mail me at styntru2u@yahoo.com. But back to the cd with tracks like "Evilyn" and "Catch Me" this cd could not be any better. I can't wait to hear more from him and hopefully he will get some more publicity because I do not think there is any musician out there better than Jamie...If you haven't bought this cd yet but it now as well as his other 2 cds, I guarentee you will not be able to turn the cd off and will not skip one song!     This CD is a wonderful collection of Jamie's talents. It would appeal to a wide range of ages and musical preferences. From start to finish, Jamie has created a dazzling work that captures the listener with sensitivity, musical competence, and amazing variety. He rocks, he purrs, he has a great time, and so will the listener! Evilyn is a strong lead track and a natural hit. The next two tracks highlight Jamie’s vocal range – a cool falsetto in Just Like You, and a deep growling intro to Butter.     Jamie Walters new album Believed is excellent. Songs one through eleven make the listener want to cruise down the road or have it playing on a tropical island relaxing. The fantastic acoustic and electric guitar sounds take me away from everything else going on at the time. Butter, Superman, Catch Me, and Sparkling Light are my favorites.     I've a been a big fan of Jamie's for years now and I've been waiting for the release of this album for 4 years now, and I could't be happier. This is definatly different than what Jamie did on his previous two albums, and is in my opinion his best work to date. Jamie does play around with his great unsual voice on this one, and sounds unlike he did before, and all for the better. On songs like 'Butter'and 'Just like You' he reminds me of Radiohead, great falsetos with his voice. I think all the songs are great and the album doesn't head on any one direction, it's very diverse and Jamie show's off his range here. I'm sure Atlantic would have never ever let him do something like this. My favs are Evilyn, Just Like You, Butter, Catch Me (sounds most like the old Jamie), Better Off Dead, Wonderland, Superman.... wow they are all great. On 'Marooned' it doesn't even sound like him, reminds me a bit of Paul Westerberg. You could pick up influences of Tom Petty on 'Wonderland' and of Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix on 'Superman'. All together you get a great mix of sounds unlike any other, except for maybe Matthew Sweet. Great album,that definatly wont dissapoint.

    It's an amazing CD! The lyrics, the music, the vibe...nothing but pure energy and entertainment during the whole record. It's a great mix of songs. Very powerful! I would have to say that all the songs are my favorite! Jamie's done it yet again, blew me away!

    As always Jamie's new Cd is awesome, I have stuck with Jamies's music from way back and i still listen to his other cd's. I like the cross over and change. I love it that the music varies. I know he put alot of hard work into this as well as the band and others. great GREAT!!!! job!!!!!!! Please dont stop!!!!!!!!

    This CD is incredible! I had the chance to hear it early, and I've been addicted to it since. Speaking of addicted, check out the lead cut, Evilyn, and the following song, Just Like You!! The artist has surpassed all expectations, and I am VERY pleased with this album! Such a Drag has grown on me, and Catch Me shows a bit of Jamie's roots in the business. I'd have given it more stars, but It won't let you on here! I'd buy this if it meant I'd be broke for 2 weeks! He sure did Believe, and I believe you'll play this CD a million times a week!
