Joel, James Taylor and Butch Walker, it’s no wonder
why the gifted musician, singer, songwriter Jake Coco
has the music industry in a buzz. With his soulful
eyes, refreshing boy next-door looks, and a passionate
voice the sounds well beyond his 20 years, Jake Coco
has everything it takes to become the next big thing
in music. Jake was born in Cleveland Ohio in 1984, and
was raised by his single mother Patricia. She
introduced him to the violin at the tender age of two,
and from there Jake began his long voyage down the
wave of music. After mastering the violin in only five
years, Jake decided to move on to other musical
instruments. At the age of nine, he taught himself
guitar and began learning the power of percussion
using a drum set that was given to him by his
stepfather. By the age of fourteen Jake was performing
on a regular basis at local jazz, blues and rock and
roll clubs playing everything he could from the drums
and piano to the guitar and the bass. After graduating
high school in 2002, Jake was faced with a big
decision. He was offered a full ride scholarship to
the “Berklee School of Music” for his spectacular
performing abilities on the drums. He was also given
another opportunity to tour with his band “Spenser”.
Following his passion for music and his love of
performing, Jake decided to stick beside his band and
began learning all his knowledge of performing on the
road. “Spenser” played in small clubs and colleges all
across the country for two years. Once back home Jake
took pen to paper and began writing his own lyrics and
producing his own music that would one day become
“Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales”. Jake was then faced
with another difficult decision. Stay with the band
that had become his family, or spread his wings and
fly. Jake followed his heart and began his journey as
a solo artist. He locked himself in his basement
studio for nearly four months, where he wrote,
arranged, produced, mixed and mastered the songs that
became the album “Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales”.
After finishing his album, Jake packed up his life,
kissed his mother goodbye, and made his move cross
country to Hollywood. It was hard for him to leave
everything he had known, but he knew it had to be done
if he wanted to succeed and take his musical career to
the next level. Jake’s music is a raw and unfiltered
view of the lessons he has learned in life thus far.
With the complexity of many different relationship
that have come and gone over time, including
girlfriends, best friends and his nonexistent
biological father, Jake’s music is not only touching
and heartfelt, but descriptive and true to the human
emotion. Jake Coco is truly what dreams are made of,
and “Broken Hearts and Fairy Tales” is the soundtrack
of his life, and maybe yours as well...

His music is the magic touch you need when you stay late in bed with your lover on a rainy morning..Mmmmm! But you know what? His second album Re-defining love is just as good as this one.     Was listening to Pandora Radio online and the song "Daddy's Eyes" came on. I cried and cried cause you see my Daddy Passed away on April 23, 2008. This was so awsome. I haven't cried much since the funeral and this song broke down the dam. I will buy any CD He puts out.

    I love every song on this CD! Jake Coco has a wonderful gift. I found his music sort of accidentally on Youtube and I am so glad I did. My husband, our babysitter and even our 3yr old son are all big fans now. We can't wait for the next one! Also, we got the CD in three days which was great.

    I actually bought the CD after seeing a couple of Jake Coco's YouTube videos and was quite impressed with, not only his singing, but the music and songwriting talent. After placing the order here, I received the CD in the mail much faster than I had anticipated. I personally thought his video's on the internet were superb, but the CD versions surpass them. I have already recommended this CD to many of my friends, and cannot wait for his next one.

    I can listen to this CD for hours (and have!) straight. I absolutely love the quality of lyrics,the selection of songs and the order they are in. Jake Coco's voice is a sort of haunting one(reminds me of Juliana Theory) ... that stays with you even after the song is over.     First time I heard "If I were a artist" was on youtube. I really liked the solo guitar version there better than the cleaned up cd version with all the extra instruments. All and all I really like the cd. CD BABY is the only place I could find it. Didnt come in a gold lined box like I expected. Took a couple days longer to get it than I thought it was going to take. But they kept in touch and even sent another email too make sure I received it. Best of luck to ya Jake

    The song "Broken Hearts and Fairytales" is absolutely my favorite. I've never come across a song that felt as personal as that one did. I was stunned the first time I heard it and had to listen to it again to make sure I wasn't dreaming. The thing I like most about his music is that it isn't as formulaic as mainstream music is. It speaks to you, and that's what music is about. I can't put it down, and I can't say enough for this album.

    Having visited the you tube site to watch a video that a friend had recommended i saw you your blog.I watched it and read some of the reviews, which where suprisingly mixed. so myself being human and not being a believer of all other peoples opinions i watched on and then went on and purchased the disc.I was a bit optimistic as to delivery time as i am in the UK. But to my amazement it arrived safe and sound i have not stopped listening to it after numerous times in the car. I listen to it in the house as well my wife who has been in the car also likes it and If i had to choose a track then i would choose Bleu for you.my wifes favourite track is saturdays.I hope that you keep up the good work and I await the next album with baited breath.

    I first came across Jake Coco on YouTube, and just had to buy the album. My favourite tracks are 'Star' and 'If I were an Artist', however there isn't a single track that I dont like!! Well worth buying!

    I love that he wrote all the music. Plays all the instruments. AND sings. The lyrics are a bit simple, but his musicality and passion for this work is worth it. Give this boy a couple years and he'll be as big as Elton John!!! :)

    I love the music on this CD. It is very well developed, especially for an independant production company. I look forward to seeing this artist develop new songs.     The CD itself is nothing short of a musical masterpiece. The lyrics are amazing and it makes it so easy to listen to song after song and never hit the track forward button. Jake truely has an gift as far as his voice is concerned and to be honest I feel like the rest of the instruments take away from his true ability. Watch the video on Youtube.com of "the best love song" where it's just him and the piano and you will understand.

Every track just hits home, it's awesome...can't wait to sing along when I know all the words! Reminiscent of Goo Goo Dolls, loosely, but definitely with his own punch in there!

    I really like this CD. It's good for the car, cleaning around the house, or just vegging out! Graceland was my favorite song over all, along with Bleu For You in a close second, for feel and tone. I love the insturmental use in Broken Hearts and Fairytales (also a great song). Gets my five stars!

    I think that album is totally amazing. I especially like the songs "Give u the Moon" and "Higher." I'd give Jake Coco 5 stars anyday because of his great song writing. No matter how terrible a person sings, you always have to give them credit for writing their own songs. That isn't the case here though because Jake is a pretty impressive singer.

    Jake Coco takes risks with his lyrics and tune writing. Good job! His distintive voice is well disciplined for such a young man. I have listened to the CD just a few times so far. My qualifier for a great CD? One that catches my interest to begin with but a CD that grows in depth the more I listen to it. This one fits the bill. My favorite track: smooth & mellow "California Rain" & the title track. Least fav. "If I Were an Artist" First time through I liked it but find that I skip on to the next track. Good luck! I'll do my best to share with all my music loving friends!
