notes

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Ivory Knight is 4 musicians who share their love of playing Heavy Metal music. Their CD 'Up From The Ashes' continues to receive great reviews and enjoys strong sales the world over.

The new album "Unconscience" was mixed and mastered by the great Jeff Waters of Annihilator fame. The phenomenal artwork was done by Gyula Havanscak, who also did Annihilator's last album, "All for You".

Ivory Knight draws comparisons to old Queensryche, Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Rush. Fans of any of these bands will LOVE Ivory Knight.

Indie-Music.Com (USA):
"...really good stuff...especially the vocals of founder and multi-instrumentalist John Devadasan Perinbam. ... There is something really special about this band... I hear Maiden, Priest, Metallica, and an eery vocal similarity at times to Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell......my wholehearted seal of support for this band. I'm impressed, to say the least...
-Heidi Drockelman

Krepusculum (Brazil) "...the powerful guitars & groove of the NWOBHM with the 70s hard rock feeling, yes...it is a marvelous sensation, arena heavy metal rock, with great solos, rock´n´roll spirit and bluesy/epic vocals! ...renew all those emotions with its phenomenal music. Perfect act to open the tour gigs of LED ZEP´s return, perfect act to open the tour gigs of WHITESNAKE´s return and of course IAN GILLAN, SABBATH, etc. The incredible vocalist John Devadasan ... and his voice is marvelous...great interpretation of the songs...a lot of real feeling jump from the album, John is also a good bassist, influenced by Roger Glover! The other guys of the band are great musicians too, above all the talented guitarist Rob Gravelle, a king of the rock´roll riffs and of the hard solos. Great 9 songs, where I highlight the impressive ones: "Roads to Glory", "Last Dance" & "True Signs of Life". Hey man, listen to it now!" - Edgar Franco

'Ivory Knight is Canada's best kept secret' - Michael Dalakos, The Temple Of Metal, Greece

Transcending The Mundane (USA) - Issue #21:

"Another great Canadian band...Perinbam reminds me of a cross of Barren Cross' Mike Lee and Bruce Dickinson." - Brett Van Put

The second full length release by these great Canadian metal artists; building on the foundations of their first full-length release Up From The Ashes, Unconscience exceeded my expectations from the guys. Jeff Waters of Annihilater fame mixed and mastered this cd and WOW what a final product!! From the opening bars of Up From The Ashes (yes I know that was the title of their first full-length cd but the song of the same name appears on this cd) until the last remnants of Waiting For Tomorrow fade out this is an absolutely fantastic album; right after listening to it for the first time we immediately replayed the entire cd for a second then a third and fourth time, I am considering having this disc permanently installed or welded into my player 'cause it's just that good. Other reviewers have compared Ivory Knight to Queensryche, Maiden, Priest etc, but I feel that a better comparison would be Symphony "X". Let's just call Ivory Knight the poor man's Symphony "X". John's vocals stand out even more that they did on Up From The Ashes, sounding like a crazed Bruce Dickenson crossed with a young King Diamond with a touch of Halford just for fun; Rob Gravelle's guitar work is second to none obviously influenced by guitarists such as Malmsteen, Vai and Lifeson; great riffs and the solo's left my mouth watering for more more more. Steve's work on the bass is second to no-one, rounding out this band's melodic metal sound and we can't forget George on the drums, again an excellent effort giving the entire cd an nice tight feel, and talk about the prescence of the music, WOW. I felt that their first cd was fantastic, and Unconscience is a perfect follow-up cd, building on the foundations that were so well laid on Up From the Ashes. And if you ever get the chance to see them live in concert it is a MUST SEE, one of the very few bands that actually sound better live than in the studio, somehow this four piece feels and sounds like a six piece when they are on stage.
