Intuition sees the world differently. He extracts humor from the mundane, locates heartache in humor, finds comfort in that heartache, and develops stress out of that same comfort. Where most would see a straight line, he tends to see a circle.

Intuition has garnered quite a buzz in the Los Angeles underground hip hop scene, and has been praised by fans and peers for crafting extraordinary lyrics and honing an energetic and precise stage show in conjunction with his trusty DJ, murjONE. His recently released album, Stories About Nothing, is a highly anticipated and widely lauded venture that is entirely produced by the phenomenal Equalibrum and is noteworthy both for the beauty of its sound and the intricacy and suggestiveness of its lyrics.

Intuition was raised in North Pole, Alaska but currently resides in Southern California; throughout his travels his love for rap music has flourished and intensified. His list of influences ranges from A Tribe Called Quest all the way to Wu Tang Clan, and in Equalibrum he found a creative partner with a similar breadth of musical vision. The heavily layered, sample-based beats found on Stories About Nothing serve as a mellifluous accompaniment to Intuition's engaging and involved narratives. The interplay is so dynamic and successful that Intuition's vocals often resemble another sample attentively placed over the harmonies by Equalibrum, while the music's groove pushes the intriguing storytelling forward.

Intuition and the backbone of his stage show, murjONE, have shared the stage with acts like Method Man, Little Brother, Rhymefest, Blackalicious, Sage Francis, Living Legends, Swollen Members, Binary Star, Busdriver, Pigeon John, Zion-I, LA Symphony, Paul Barman, and Sixtoo, and many others. Intuition and murjONE’s energetic and well planned sets contrast sharply with the unintelligible, rowdy, hypemen-centered performances that have come to characterize the genre's live expression; this devotion to fine-tuning their craft and projecting a sense of professionalism ensures that fans past, present, and future will continue to follow and support the efforts of these young musicians with zeal.

Intuition is a rapper. You should be his listener.

I recently purchased Stories about Nothing by Intuition, and I have to say that it is on constant rotation in the whip as well as the I-pod. Stories About Nothing is one of those rare albums that you only get to hear every once in awhile. Lets be real…now a days it’s hard to find a good album that doesn’t reference ice, rims, hoes, and drug hustling. Intuition delivers his lyrics with amazing syllable placement, and creative wit behind every rhyme. Don’t let the name “Stories About Nothing” fool you. His stories contain more than what you‘d think.

  • Deserves more exposure...
    author: Pops

I heard of this guy through an online message board, which isn't neccessarily always a good thing.... but this time it definitely was. A perfect consistent and coherent album - something which isn't very common these days in hip-hop. Do yourself a favour - return the Kanye & "Fiddy" CDs and use the money to buy this!

  • This Is Excellent For Its Genre
    author: D

THIS ALBUM IS A GREAT ALBUM FOR THOSE WHO LIKE THE OLDER ATMOSPHERE ALBUMS. HE IS THE NEXT IN LINE TO TAKE THE THROWN AS KING OF THE "EMO RAPPERS". THIS ALBUM IS SUCH A GREAT REFLECTION OF LIFE AS INTUITION SEES IT THAT YOU GET INTHRAWLED IN THE LYRICS AND ALMOST FEEL THE PAIN HE IS BRINGING ACROSS. VERY SIMILAR TO HOW BROTHER ALI GETS HIS FEELINGS ACROSS. I WOULD SAY ABOUT 1/2 OF THIS ALBUM IS REALLY GOOD LISTENING THE OTHER 1/2 ISN'T BAD JUST SOMETIMES THE PRODUCTION GETS REPEDATIVE. BY THE WAY THE PRODUCTION ON THIS ALBUM IS STELLAR FOR THE MOST PART AND WITH THE HEART FELT LYRICS OF INTUITION ON BOARD AS WELL THIS ALBUM IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE BETTER ALBUMS THIS YEAR. ALL THIS SAID IT IS STILL A MATTER OF TASTE AND A LIKENESS OF THIS GENRE. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE OLDER ATMOSPHERE ALBUMS OR ANYTHING LIKE BROTHER ALI (AS FAR AS WHEN IT COMES TO LAYING YOUR LIFE OUT THERE FOR ALL TO SEE) BUT INSTEAD LIKE THINGS THAT MAY BE IN THE TOP 100 CHARTS PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS, BUT IF YOU DO THEN YOU WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY THIS ALBUM. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT AN INTUITION SHOW SOON!!!

Fresh ass hell. Good blend of 'ol skool style storytellin' and beats. The kind of hip hop that "should" be played on the air as opposed to the kind of packaged shit thats on there now!
