notes
Men Can Stop Rape (formerly mrpp.com) is a non-profit organization working to prevent rape and other forms of male violence through community education, consulting, research, and public action.
They support men by providing them with the resources and opportunities to challenge themselves and others to end sexual violence.
They believe rape is a choice men make to exert power over others, and is, therefore, a men's issue as well as a women's issue.
As long as men continue to make this choice or to remain silent while other men are violent, rape will continue.
Indiegrrl is proud to assist Men Can Stop Rape with their mission, by donating the proceeds of this compilation CD to further their efforts.
The Indiegrrl list began in May of 1998 as a forum for information, networking and conversation about independent music from a female perspective.
Indiegrrl welcomes women performers, dj's, managers, and booking agents, as well as men interested in women's role in the independent music industry.
Since the inception of the free mailing list, Indiegrrl has grown into an independent record label releasing a compilation CD in June of 99, and this, the second compilation.
The organization has hosted 10 national tours and hundreds of events around the world.
Indiegrrl accepts no corporate sponsorship, and relies on the generosity of its members to promote showcases, benefits, and events under the Indiegrrl banner.

good and bad
author: davethe day i received my order from cdbaby i went to my girlfriends house and we had a "date" of sharing a 6pack and listening to all 7 of the cd's i purchased. Indiegrrl struck both of us instantly with such a great mix of talent providing a wide array of strong songs. the only thing i have to complain about is my girlfriend has yet to let me remove it from her cd player!

Indiegrrl ROCKS!
author: Jessica Nappa-siegelThis album is amazing. Just when I thought the music industry had been taken over by vapid Brittney Spears clones, this cd came along and reminded me why I am so passionate about right-minded (or should I say left-minded) music.
