notes
The Hugh Pool Band, "Live at The Rodeo Bar" cd features Hugh Pool, Guitar, Vox & Harmonica; James Wormworth, Drums & Shaker; & Whynot Jansveld, Bass Guitar & Vox.
The Rodeo Bar has become Hugh's home club in NYC. This album was recorded in one night and captures the energy of The Hugh Pool Band show.
It is also an enhanced cd with 2 live videos, a wacky super 8 film and some other mult-media amusements viewable from your Macintosh or Windows computer.
If you dig Slide Guitar, Live Energy and Power Trio Blues Rock you will love this record, made by a 6'6" Guitar pickin', Harmonica tootin farm boy from Mars, PA, a 4th generation, veteran NYC drummer and a lanky bass playin Dutch boy with a diploma from Berkley. The recording quality is also excellent.

Huge Hugh Pool Fan
author: Dennis TwitchellSame thing. Saw him on Emeril and had to have the cd. We have a Blues club here in Springfield, IL, but nothing compared to this. Wish he would come to the midwest. Can you imagine him live at B.B King's club in Memphis? Sign me up and for god's sake get more albums out!
Hugh Pool: good ol' boy from the NYC delta
author: AlanI caught Hugh Pool live at Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) Bluesfest last week. Songs from this CD figured heavily in his playlist that night, and the music was absolutely awesome! A must have for my collection - urban rock meets southern delta blues in a way that only a few artists can master - and without doubt Hugh ranks amoung the best. Get it!
Once you hear this CD you'll want to buy more!!
author: Elaine - from San Diego areaI first saw this band on Emeril Live and only caught the last half of their song. I had to have their music and immediately got online to try to find out where they were from. I found their site and ordered CD through CD BABY. I have ordered other CD's of theirs also now. My only WISH is that they come out to California and do some shows!! have their CD's along with my Lynyrd Skynyrd collection! COOL BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your music is going from heart Hugh! There´s a lot of feelings on this CD!
author: Ivan HakoI got this CD from my friend Vlad and I like it so much. This kind of music, especially if there is so great musician, guitarist, singer, composer as Hugh is, must wake up your heart and caress your soul!
Excellent cd, amazing musician
author: Stephanie ReevesThis cd has been in my cd player for a week straight now and it never gets boring. Everytime I listen to it there's more to hear. Whenever Hugh plays it feels just like I'm sitting at an Allman Brothers concert, but more personal.
Brilliant guitarist, and cool man
author: Vlad DeinekoIf you want a real blues from New York City, don't miss this one! Great music! Coolest tunes!I love it very much!
Overall pretty good..... though a little rough in spots......
author: Markus, from "The Big O", Omaha NESaw the band on Emeril cooking show of all places, and bought the CD. Band needs a little polish here and there but overall was a good listen. I would give this a 7 of 10 in this catagory of music.

Awesome Slide work
author: RickQuite simply......it is awesome.....highly recommend this disc if you like slide guitar...oh and he ain't bad on the harp either
IT WAS VERY GOOD
author: MICHAELI ENJOY SLIDE GUITAR AND HUGH POOL BAND HIT THE MARK THANKS
Great blues, harp and guitar playing is excellent; emotive vocals
author: EARL CLINEA well recorded live set with a wondeful you are there feel. The harp playing is superb. The slide guitar is stinging and keeps the music moving. The vocals are understated but very communicative. The songs, instuments and vocals blend together to give a convincing southern tinged blues performance reminisant of an Allman Brothers show on a good night.
