notes
The music on this disc was recorded during two live sessions in July of 1992 at the radio station in Harnosand, Sweden. The Hour: Carey Harmon-drums/percussion/vocals, Marshall Madow-guitar/harmonica/vocals and Matt Turk- guitar and vocals were touring Sweden that summer, performing in a variety of venues. In cafés and courtyards, clubs and pubs, theaters and even a beggar's banquet on a boat, The Hour found the folks to be both enchanted and enchanting. Songs of Sweden was originally released in September 1992.
All songs are written by The Hour.

author: Ken SchneidmanThe Hour was one of the great bands to emerge from the wild jamband scene in New York City in the late 80's. This collection was recorded in a live radio session in Harnosand, Sweden during the bands 1992 tour. The live energy is apparent right from the start with the opening licks of "Joker's Life". Matt Turk's voice soars, his guitar sings, sweet and fresh. Marshall Madow's guitar, percussion and vocals are perfectly placed tasteful little nuggets of musical excellence! "Small Town" and "The Game" are especially great. Carey Harmon's percussion makes you want to dance and his harmonies shine, soft and brilliant. Buy this album. You're gonna love it!
