HOT WATER is the brain-child of South Africa singer-songwriter, composer and acoustic guitarist Donovan Copley. The band brings together a diverse and dynamic mix of musicians, genres and instruments. The result is an engaging mix of uplifting songs.
The band’s aim is to create a space in which people feel at home and so it comes as no surprise that their debut album is titled “Home”. The 10 tracks found on the record cover upbeat South African beats (ala Graceland), Hopping Blues, Modern Folk ballads (ala Jack Johnson) and thought-provoking, inspiring cross-cultural gems (World-Roots music).
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Hot Water’s first single “Bushfire” has found its initial international screening through Italian company 'Primigi'’s 2007 commercial campaign (screening throughout Europe and now in the US).
Hot Water has recently released a second album "One" which follows closely the authentic vibe set on the first record.
Their travels abroad begin in August 2008 with a trip to Europe.
