SETH HORAN: Happenstance

Seth Horan

Happenstance

© 2007 Seth Horan, BMI (837101294720)

"He plays solo bass guitar like Victor Wooten, sings songs like John Mayer and Ani DiFranco, and performs with the intensity of Martin Sexton. He's a freak of nature, and he's phenomenal."

notes

"Happenstance" is the first release from bassist/singer/songwriter Seth Horan to feature the material entirely as you would live... whether looped or live, the only sounds on the entire album are made by Horan's voice or his bass.

NOTE FROM SETH: This is a 5-song EP, and the way CD Baby works, I can't make any money selling it through their system. Please click the link over on the left if you'd like to order it.

It's here because once the initial pressing sells out, I'll have CD Baby upload it to iTunes; that's why it's in their catalog.

Sorry for any confusion!

"As I got into my car, I popped Happenstance into my cd player and settled into my commute to work. The first song, Happy, made me well up with joy for you. It was wonderful, in fact, I listened to it twice before moving on to any other song... It is a beautiful song and one that I continue to return to.... I continued listening... until I got to the song Trial Run. It caught my attention as it began -- haunting and sweet. It drew me in, with beautiful lyrics and a wonderful melody.... I listened to it over and over again for days (I get obsessive like that about songs I really like). Soon I could listen to it without crying, but I still felt emotionally raw every time I heard it. You have managed to write a song that reflects what every woman wants a man to feel about her and what every man dreams of feeling about a woman. It is stunning.... That is why I love your music... because it is real. It is arresting and genuine and it strikes a chord in my heart. Your music relates to people in a concrete way -- I thank you for putting it out there."

"I just wanted to let you know how excellent I thought it was. Musically it was what I expected - your amazing basswork and overall musicianship was solid, innovative, and unique. But it was your TONE that really makes this my favorite of your discs. There is a positivity in this disc not found in the others. It retains the sense of searching that the others have, but elevates it, makes it an optimistic search. I just wanted to say thanks. I can't wait for your next disc."
