The Hoppin' Haole Brothers
The Hoppin' Haole Brothers are one of the most original bands on the scene today. This six-piece combo has taken the tropical-bopical sounds of Hawaiian, Bossa Nova, and Cuban music and mixed them with their other more continental tastes like vaudeville, hot jazz and country swing, creating an island music all their own - the music of Manhattan Island.
Hailed as the swingingest island combo on the East Coast, The Hoppin' Haole Brothers excite audiences everywhere with their catchy melodies, hilarious lyrics and tropically punchy rhythms. A favorite of the cocktail vacationer, the Ukulele Hall of Fame Museum, and college radio, this band supplies the perfect soundtrack for anyone seeking shelter beneath the tiny umbrella. So pack your ears and set off on a tour of the sun and fun drenched sounds of The Hoppin' Haole Brothers.
Formed in 2000, the core musicians are Scott Warnasch, ukuleles and vocals; Kurt Westphal, electric guitars; Bob Charde, string bass, and vocals; AJ Faas, drums and percussion; Richard White, steel guitars and Dobro; and Linda Warnasch, vocals.
Their first CD titled How-lee is out on the Acme Sound Laboratory label. It features twelve hot numbers including special guest; legendary entertainer and stride piano wizard Uncle Floyd.

Teriffic, Snappy, great musicianship
author: UkeWarriorNifty combo with some fun lyrics and a surprising level of musicianship. I bought it for the uke centered playting, but love the songs. Way more sophisticated then most uke recordings. I really hope they do another.

author: polestickerthis cd is full of catchy lyrics that stick in your head. probably the all time "chill and grill" album. no matter where you are, you'll soon feel like your on your own private island, sipping on something cold with a little umbrella in it, wearing hawaiin threads, and waiting on your friends to come lu-ow.
