notes
Flanked by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award nominee Johnnie Johnson and the Godfather of Texas Blues, Eastside Soulman, W.C. Clark - Clark took Song of the Year for "Let It Rain" at the 2003 W.C. Handy Awards in Memphis - the Hoodoo Cat's serve up everything from roadhouse to rockn' blues with gusto.
Check out Johnson's boogie woogie piano style on "Talk To Me Baby" and "Tired of Workin" and you'll see that, Johnson, the seventy-something, pianist hasn't lost a lick since his day's with Chuck Berry at the beginning of the rock and roll era. Listen to W.C. Clark's fine guitar work on "Who Do? ." Clark, a Texas treasure, has never sounded fresher.
Need to smile? "I Like My Women A Little Bit Fat" and "Yard Mowin' Blues" give you a taste of Texas humor.

...Well produced. We give it 4 stars!"

THE HOO DOO CATS deliver clean arrangements of tunes written in swing, rockabilly and blues idioms, and when the tune is their own, it will probably be about mowing lawns, ways women do their hair, or how Harkins likes women a little bit fat, but will sound familiar enough to make most any St.Louis bar crowd shake bootie."

"Take Texas natives with a bad case of the blues, dustm' with swing, season with rockabilly, garnish with strong voices and serve hot."

"These guys are talented, versatile, easy to work with, and GREAT fun. We had a blast performing with ‘em."

They smoke, swing and slither in a swampy way. These cats scratch out sexy boogie with ripsaw guitar, slinky bass, and pile-driving beats besides whiskey soaked vocals. They also feature a drummer who surprisingly writes and is the lead singer. So get HOO_DOOED. Hell, it’s good for you."
