notes

Tony Z & Rob Y were in a band called Lotion, a critically acclaimed pop/rock band from NYC who released three albums under the guise of 'indie rock.' In 2001, Honeycomb was formed. The big idea was that Honeycomb would be an audio/visual band that would play in front of movies and clips that the band would create. By 2002, just as the first four songs and the first batch of visuals were completed, Honeycomb found themselves in the AMA's best unsigned band competition. They became top 10 finalists, but the competition required a live performance. Rob and Tony quickly enlisted some friends to join the band and performed the competition. They came in 2nd place. (awww...) Since then: more songs, more visuals, more performances. "Worldwide Electric Inventor's Kit" is their first album.

  • My Album Of The Year So Far
    author: Simon Lewis

Having been a big fan of Lotion in the mid to late 1990's and finding out about Honeycomb on the internet about 4-5 years ago I almost thought that this record would never come out. Ten years on from the Telephone album, it's definitely been worth the wait and hopefully the next one won't take as long. Favourite songs - I Wonder, Reel To Reel, Chicken & Stars, Wide Awake, You And A Car, Summertime, Now That, The Last Song and the others are all pretty good as well
