Hip Songs for Learning, Vol. 1 was written and performed by Ruth Laker, Ph.D., a child psychologist/jazz singer and writer whose work has recently been featured on NPR. She is author and composer of Paradise Diner, a musical comedy being released in 2008, with musical arrangements by Peter Farnbauer of the world-renowned European band Elan.
Most arrangements and many performances on Hip Songs For Learning are by Bob James, M.S.W., Founder and Director of Student Voices and Music in Action, along with Robbie Takac of the GooGoo Dolls. He was recently inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.
Guest musicians on HS4L include Milky D, Karen Williams, Emmi Lennon James, Geoffrey Fitzhugh Perry and Howard Fleetwood Wilson II. Hip Songs for Learning was mastered by Grammy nominated technician Anthony Casuccio at XtreamAudio.
