Hillary's Revenge - Band Bio
The rock group Hillary's Revenge are from the Cleveland, Ohio area and formed in 1996. They are: Teri Gorecki; Keyboards/Vocals, Greg Gorecki; Guitar/Vocals, Dave Moran (Bug); Drums and Paul Davidson; Vocals.
Starting out in 1991 as Sands Of Time, they recorded a highly acclaimed full length CD titled Quarter Til Nine in March 1995, and found themselves without their lead vocalist who unexpectedly left at the disc's release. They continued to play the CD live for a year and re-worked the lead vocals to suit each song to a different member. This was well received. The band then noticed a distinct change in attitude and song writing. The new music sparked a drive that reflects the bands vibe and determination. That's when Hillary's Revenge was born.
The name comes from a time when members jokingly called Teri "Hillary". Although it seemed a crucial time for them when they lost their lead vocalist, they carried on to much approval and decided to change the name of the band in March of 1996. Hence the name Hillary's Revenge came about as, "artistic revenge, not personal".
Both bands have songs on 4 compilation CD's and have played at Undercurrents '93 as Sands Of Time and Undercurrents '96 as Hillary's Revenge and have played numerous notable clubs in Ohio. In '95 they also made a professional MTV style video by Virtual Realities of the song "Sedation" from Quarter Til Nine, and a "live" video at Bear Creek Amphitheater, Iguanaheads' Summer Hippie Fest '96 by Weaver Digital Audio & Video, of the song "It's Magic On Me". Interviews and live performances were also televised on Akron cable stations.
In July '96, the ground breaking for the building of the new private recording facility, Hourglass Productions, was started. It took 5 years to complete. In 2002 Hillary's Revenge completed their debut full length CD, simply called Hillary's Revenge.
In 1998 they were excited to learn they had some record label interest out of Chicago, Illinois. Telling them their demo was 12th in line of 300 already listened to!
The first 5 bands were signed and they were encouraged to keep up the good work!
