If Jesus dislikes His church being lukewarm, is it strange that His followers would feel the same? A call to return to our first love.

Nice Little Church
There’s a nice little church on the corner of the block
and it's always filled with people,
It’s got a brown brick front and blue padded pews
and a pretty golden steeple
But I wonder if they’re goin’ to heaven or to hell
no one wants to ask the question
are we too afraid to tell the truth?
There’s a nice little church on the corner of the block
and they’re never controversial,
and when I was young full of life and fun
I’d attend this dress rehearsal
For the meaning of existence
must be something more than this,
there’s more passion in a sunset
or a soft embracing kiss by far
There’s a nice little church on the corner of the block
and I went there out of hunger,
still I recall no real food at all
and it really makes me wonder
Why we’re so in love with rituals and so afraid of life
so religious on the outside
but my heart feels like a knife’s gone through it
There’s a nice little church on the corner of the block
and it's always filled with people,
It’s got a brown brick front and blue padded pews
and a pretty golden steeple
But I wonder if they’re goin’ to heaven or to hell
no one wants to ask the question
are we too afraid to tell the truth?

Nice Little Church
author: David NelsonMike has always been so sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit when writting his songs and this one is no exception. Mike's gift for singing, creating and arranging are wonderful! Read the words, it is what we see today but, are we afraid to ask (because we MIGHT offend)? I have attended churches like this and the people are NOT being fed the Word of God and when you want to talk about God, in more than just a superficial way, the people "have other things to do" - they get uncomfortable. Listen - and then listen to his other works - I think you will like Mike's work.
