notes
HeavensDust was formed in 2000 by Shinsaku (Vo.Gt.), Mai (Ba.) and Atushi (Gt.). Their goal was to create an individual sound that no other band can make.
In 2003 Ajo (wadaiko),in 2004 u-ky(koto),Yuta(Dr.) and Nan-Zan(shakuhachi) made the final pieces of the puzzle. By including koto (traditional Japanese harp),shakuhachi(traditional Japanese flute) and wadaiko (traditional Japanese drums) HeavensDust mixed traditional Japanese melody and rhythm with alternative metal and rock.

Shin is a god!
author: Tim D. BarnettThis band has some of the most interesting and incredible sounding mixes I've ever heard for this genre of music. Of course, being half Japanese and loving the culture and traditional Japanese instruments in their songs helped me to love the music all the more. It's a great mixture of styles and songs, and I personally like every song on this CD.
Wow!!
author: HakkUpon first listen I immediately felt the passion on this cd and started banging my head! Another great collection of great songs that cover the entire range of emotions. "Where Is My God" is a very beautiful, haunting piece. I highly recommend this cd!!
kool
author: kendraThis is my first time buying your cd and i got to tell you I love your cd. Awsome music. The whole cd is great.
This is my favorite album from these guys! I know a lot of people think their latest once (Without a Voice) is their best work, but in my opinion this is their best work. The guitars are more thrashy here and the vocals are all Shin!! The shakuhachi and koto are featured more in this album then their last one (Seven Sins) as well. The only issue I have with the koto in this ablum is that the tunings might be Western because it sounds more like a piano than a koto. Overall this album is terrific! In my opinion this is the direction the band should have explored more.
The best music !
author: Syffer1 week to get my cds, (whereas i tick fast send) not very good but it's not really dramatic. This group is the best japan group i listen. The sounds is very good and you get feeling to listen it. Thanks cd baby !!
Sweet!
author: Valenti"Higher Than Heaven..." is a great album. The vocals are great and the music itself is dark, but it has a sense of tranquillity as well. I'd recommend this album to anyone.
This is originally great!
author: PshaiThis cd is perfect! It's sound new and really different. The beat is hard and the voice is great!
Great Album, Hardcore and Original
author: StiNkWeeDThis album rocked! From the first song to the last, this was a solid album. I agree with the other reviewers on cleaning up the guitar work, but even with that this was a great album.
Vraiment fantastique !
Almost perfect
author: Mark WI bought this album purely on the strength of the information on cdbaby.com. It's almost brilliant except the guitar work is very muddy. Hopefully they'll fix this by the time a new album comes out. If they get the production right they could go HUGE
Great music, bad recording!
author: 185 dbHevensdust has the most unique sound I have ever heard in my life. It could probly be the best music I owned if only the record quality was better. It sounds as if it were recorded in low quality mp3 format and burned to a disk. The flute sounds great at the begining of the song, then as soon as the gitars join in the over all loudness drops, and lots of static begins in the background; the treble also drops to the point that there is next to no reason to have tweeters. Overall the music has a great and unique sound, but the recording needs work.
Holy Shit
author: Akito Tenkawaok. i first heard Heavensdust on myspace. Then i bought Higher then Heaven, Louder than God. and i must say Holy shit. they are a kick ass band. i havne't stopped listening to the cd. i have on in my car constantly. It scares the old people here in Florida. but yes. This CD kicks some Major Ass. Buy it if you already havent. if you like Cradle. or Dir En. then you'll love Heavensdust. buy it trust me. Oh and Tnanks Shin.
spine tingling
author: Davey SawatzkyYes thats right, this album literally made my spine tingle its one of the most unique metal albums I have ever had the fortune of hearing.
The album is awesome
author: Chris BullockI have not been able to put down this CD for over a week now! This album mixes every genre of rock possible, and blends it into this melodic sickness that can't be matched by anyone else, with the exception of Ill Nino and Linkin Park. I love the album, and I will buy HeavensDust's next one for sure!
Rate it 5 , come back ,and rate it another
author: PriscillaHeavensdust make such emotional music! Some songs make me feel both anger and sadness at the same time. Some, various mixed feelings. I absolutely LOVE their sound! The Japanese instruments used in their music makes them sound so different from all bands I've listened to so far.I don't do it much , but I've pretty much forced some of my friends and sibs to listen to this band's music.More should get to know a band as good as this, it surprises me when some people still haven't heard of them yet. They just seem to get better in the next album...actually,to me both of their albums are equally good!can't wait for their next album!
Angst-ridden and soothing at the same time!!!!!!!!
author: Anden LylanThis is the freshest thing I've ever heard in metal!!!!! Primitive, angry, soaring, ambient, dense, beautiful!!! Every song is amazing, but I especially like tracks 3, 5, and 15.
Louder than before
author: magnumbladeI did also waited a long time for this album, I after a few listen I did noticed HeavensDust tried a louder/harder sound this time around, Although there a a few songs I didn't like the ones I like make up for the 5/5. Hope we'll see more evolutions (like the accoustic guitar in the last track)to the sound as the band grows older.
i love it!
author: princessit is awesome. great covination of europian and japanese instruments! it is my favorite "loud" album!!

finally
author: DeviWow, I've been eager waiting for this album to come out.I've been a fan of their music since I first heard their last album, "Seven Sins". I didn't know some of these songs would actually turn out on this album.I saw vids of "Red So Deep" and "Silent Scream" and thought they were from their first album.
