notes
Heather has been winning over New York audiences for years with her excellent band, lush arrangements, and signature piano lines. She has toured extensively throughout the U.S. with just her keyboard in tow, and has a new album called "Five Dollar Dress" that features well-known musicians such as Bill Frisell and Steven Barber (David Byrne, Willie Nelson).
Her CD, helmed by acclaimed West Coast producer Tucker Martine, features guitar by Bill Frisell, string arrangements by Steve Barber and the lush sounds of the Tosca String Quartet. The spacious and sultry sounds of her recording will either leave you feeling that you've just driven along the most abandoned road on the West Coast or reminiscing about the time you thanked your Sunday Morning one-night stand for leaving right on time.

This cd is incredible!!! Grab your wine and your mate and give this a listen. I love Heather's creativity especially making The Cars song Just What I Needed her own classic. I will not forget the band either, you guys are great! I saw you all at SXSW 2006 and you all sound just as good or better live. Thanks for the great music.
Excellent CD - Buy It Now!
author: Iain HamiltonI downloaded three tracks from this album from Heather's website before a visit to Tonic in NYC and was instantly hooked [sorry Heather, arrived late and missed your gig - heading up to T.O. soon?]. Love it all, can't wait for the next one...
Nothing Short of Wonderful!
author: Stewart RoxburghI was truly fortunate today to visit Laura Cantrell's Radio Thrift Shop site and the link to Heather's own website. Heather's music grabs your emotional attention immediately. The mellowness of her voice, the beautiful arrangements, and echoing remoteness of the lyrics make this such a wonderful example of contemporary work. Greatness personified! Can't wait to hear more.

I 've been knowing Heather for quite a while now and we all waited for that time we would be able to review, officially review what she does. I remember her in her cosy tiny apartment in Paris with her keyboard, working, likely hoping for a cd to come out one day. and what an album! purity and sensuality…for the rest, my English is not good enough to translate in details.
sweet sassy, and Oh Yeah!
author: ken lawrencein may of 2005 Laura cantrell had a wonderful singer from NY. named heather greene. she had just finished the cd, and had just done benefits to help save the club tonic. if you visit the heather greene site you'll be able to listen to that radio thrift shop show from WFMU and even one of the tonic benefits. well who else could turn the cars I love you but i don't into something sweet and beautiful. and that just the first track I wrote your name and i want to thank you and hold me down and well... some one better hold me down. after listening to it, wanted to squeze into the computer's cheap speekers, and put my arms around heather, kissing her franticly, and letting her do the same to me. you'll want this one in your cd box of goodys so grab it today.
