notes
In 1993 Harvey Band released their first CD titled Crossfire. The band from Rochester, New York included Harvey Possemato on guitars, banjo, harmonica and percussion, Paul Hammerick on drums, Keith Laurier on bass and Gary Guth on violin, guitar and keyboards.
With this new 2002 release, Green Flats Road, Harvey Band turns to acoustic music. Green Flats Road is a beautiful country setting on a river in the Catskill Mountains. It is also the site of the long forgotten New York, Ontario and Western Railroad, a major railroad that struggled financially through two world wars only to give up and close in the late 1950s. Along Green Flats Road one can still see remains of the railroad's coal flats and the rusted machines of the old economy.
This collection of songs represents a journey to a special place - a place where we go to dream and wonder what life was like before our time.

Absolutely beautiful.. Takes me to Green Flats Road
author: Chip DeSerioThe Green Flats Road CD is of excellent quality and absolutely beautiful sound. The CD graphics really reflect the Green Flats Road area where I and my family spent many good times in a cabin along the river. The production mixing of the Green Flats Road CD gives the listener a wonderful acoustic folksy bluesy sound that takes you on a trip on the old O & W railroad and observing rattlesnakes on the Rt. 17 highway. The composer painted a magical music picture on each track. AWESOME !!! CD

A Job Well Done!!!!!!
author: Andy Lovett - Jacksonville FLHarvey is a unique and talented artist who displays great passion and skill in his work year after year. This colorful album appeals to guitar players and sharp listeners alike. Be sure to check out "Crossfire" for similar attitude with amazing electric stylings. Take it from me - I studied guitar under Harv almost ten years ago in New York and he was a great inspiration to my playing and musical character. I'm going to eagerly stay tuned for another electric album!!!

author: Bob Coleates in North CarolinaI was made aware of this CD by a wanna-be columnist from Rochester, NY. He publishes a daily column for the local fish-wrapper in Rochester and in Utah. He raved about this CD and he was "Spot-On!" This is one of the finest acoustical compilations you'll find anywhere! Neither Clapton nor Vaughn have a leg up on this group. Do yourself a favor ~ BUY IT!

Not another bland acoustic cd. This one has depth and talent !
author: Dick LangThis cd has it together! Sometimes you pick up new music and there are tracks you could skip over. This one doesn't let you down on all selections. The music is befitting of the title and visa/versa. High class stuff here. Not elevator music! Try it out!
This CD is an inspiration to all guitar players everywhere.
author: Mike BilinskiThe skill and time that must have been put into this CD is phenomenal. The harmony and guitar riffs are awesome. The solo's show years of expirience and talent. I can't wait to hear more from this band.

Greenflats Road is an exceptional CD, a timeless collection
author: Jim StaytonGreenflats Road is excellent road music, relaxing yet with enough tempo to keep one awake. Better yet, I can sit back, close my eyes, and I'm back at Green Flats. I'm sixteen again, sitting on the banks of the Delaware, holding hands with my girl. As the lazy river flows by, I hear a train whistle in the distance.
