Harry Orlove started playing guitar at age 10 and did his first paying gig at age 11, where he made an astonishing $2.00. Needless to say, he was hooked. By 17, he was on the road playing and recording with brilliant songwriter Tom Rapp, in the band "Pearls Before Swine", one of the great "underground" groups of the '60's.
By 1973, Harry's interest in the 5-string banjo and bluegrass music had become an obsession, and he worked in several ground breaking "new acoustic music" bands including, "Bottle Hill" and "The Monroe Doctrine". This led him to a gig with Vassar Clements playing guitar on two of Vassar's records and touring for a short time. During this period, Harry also played guitar on records by Tony Trischka and Stacy Phillips among others.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1979, Harry landed a job in the house band of the World Famous Palomino Club where he got to work with music legends like James Burton, Jimmy Bryant, Thumbs Carlisle, "Sneaky Pete" Kleinow and Jay Dee Maness.
In his twenty years on the West Coast, Harry has recorded with a wide range of artists like Lawrence Juber, Billy Swan, Lee Greenwood, Albert Lee, Robin Zander(Cheap Trick), Felix Cavalieri(The Rascals), and has also done a great deal of commercial studio work including spots for Coca-Cola and Gateway Computers, and TV and film work for "Deep Impact", "Delta Force", "The Southpark Movie", "The Promised Land", "Murder She Wrote", and many others. His work as a composer and arranger includes the television reality series "Cowboy 101" for the Outdoor Life Network, and Madison Mason's "Howlin' At The Moon", which premiered off-Broadway in the Fall of 2004.
Along with appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", and "Jimmy Kimmel Live", Harry was a member of the live, on camera house band for the NBC/Dick Clark Productions show, "Hot Country Nights", in the course of which he played with Joe Diffie, Steve Wariner, Suzy Boggus, and other great country artists.
His recent live shows include gigs with Leann Rimes, Rosie Flores, Albert Lee, Mac Davis, Johnny Rivers, David Grisman, Ray Campi, Peter Rowan, James Intveld, John Hartford, Big Jay McNeely, Jerry Douglas and on and on and on......
Harry is also very proud to have had artist endorsements from The Martin Guitar Company (for whom he was a demonstration artist and clinician), Eastman Guitars, Danelectro, Fishman Transducers, Elixir Strings and Fender Musical Instruments.
He currently resides in Tujunga, Ca., in the beautiful San Fernando Valley with his lovely daughter, Charlotte.

Great stylist, writer, singer and player
author: Mike PhelanWhy isn't Harry Orlove famous? ... because this isn't a meritocracy. If it were, you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing him. I love the CD. The emotional quality of his singing voice, inventiveness of his playing and the reach of his writing just knocked me out. A CD is a snapshot - this one captured Harry at the top of his game. Good work, Harry.
This recording is a must own kinda deal

Be aware this recording gets down and stays there. This is a very soulful cat who sings and plays his ass off. Eat your heart out Lonnie Mack!
A great piece of work and a timeless style
