So the die was cast, from early on absorbing the mojo from so many great musicians. In '2000' Gus formed The Backseat Howlers and then in '2002' The Smoke Dogs. Now working between Arizona, Alaska and Arkansas always with his portable studio in hand. Gus uses his guitar, harmonica and vocals to tell the stories he sees unfolding around him. Drawing heavily from a backround of blues he melds the vibe of John Lee Hooker with the pulse of the Chile Peppers. Hard driving new blues, this music is raw, romantic and real.
