notes
Guillermo Anderson is Honduras's best-known World Music Artist. Based in the lively Caribbean port of La Ceiba, GUILLERMO ANDERSON and his band CEIBANA, infuse Afro-Caribbean percussions with contemporary sounds, local rhythms, and folklore of Honduras' coastal regions. Performances are spiced with the merging of Honduran Garífuna rhythms such as "Parranda" and "Punta" with better-known reggae, salsa and other Caribbean styles.
His concerts celebrate love, nature and everyday life in this part of the Caribbean. As an artist Guillermo has played an important role in Honduras bringing awareness on important issues like the protection of the environment, health and literacy. His song "En Mi Pais" is already an alternative national anthem in Honduras. His concert and recording "Para Los Chiquitos", a recording aimed at familiarizing children with rainforest species in danger of extinction have gained him a wide children's audience in Honduras.
Guillermo Anderson and his band CEIBANA have gained wide recognition and acclaim through their concert performances in North, Central and South America, Europe Taiwan, and Japan.

A Must to have CD!
author: Julio BorjasThis CD is amazing! Throuught his songs, Mr. Anderson really expresses the feelings and life of Hondurans. When I listen to the songs, I picture La Ceiba, Pico Bonito, Tela, my trips from San Pedro and the faces of my family and friends. I haven't been in the country in so manny years but with Mr. Anderson's discocgraphy I can reconect to my lost past. Gracias Guillermo! You rock man! Julio Borjas

Wonderful music!
author: Myrna Del RioCosta y Calor is my first Guillermo Anderson cd and did not disappoint. I love "Por Esa Negra" the best, and dug the rest of the songs as well. My family emigrated from Tela, Honduras in 1959 to various parts of the USA. I have not forgotten my roots and am totally in love with the evocative qualities of Guillermo's melodies and rhythms in Costa y Calor. Bravisimo!

The fact is that we seldomnly hear music from this part of the world (Honduras). Costa y Calor (CN CD 20002) which translates to Heat of The Coast is honduran World Music artist Guillermo Anderson at his best. In it, Guillermo offers a milieu of honduran garifuna rythms tied in with reaggae, and other caribbean influences.Tracks flow from the blues oriented and rythmic parranda of "Por Esa Negra" to the sweet voice and guitar arrangement of Costa y Calor now an acoustic emblem in honduran music. Costa y Calor is a must for anyone who is curious about the new sounds coming out of Central America today.
- author: JOHN MORAN III / " Honduras This Week"
"his new and long awaited CD "Costa y Calor" now playing the Honduran airwaves and available at local music stores. If you want to get away from the Punta sounds and the "Playero" music overplayed in the Honduran discos and radiowaves, "Costa y Calor" will provide a fresh and new experience. It is North Coast music at its best and its most uplifting, and lyrics one can enjoy and appreciate its literary quality. There will be no regrets in obtaining it."
