brilliant, not to be missed , album of the year

author: KenI heard this music on XM Radio a few weeks ago and finally found it available on CD Baby...although the music is quite outstanding and makes a statement compared to music that is just trying to sell and fit into what is popular, the presentation that the CD case makes and insight into the statements and thoughts of the individuals of the band is far above what is normally provided to the buyer. There are a few CD's in my collection that I can't see myself ever parting with and this is one of them.
There is good, new music
author: rickThere still is good music being made. The songs can be heard over and over and the melodies still stay fresh. Their second album will be a tough act to follow.

author: MCHookAbsolutely great mellow morning or rainy day CD, I bought the CD a couple of weeks ago after hearing the single "Told You So" on XM Radio's The Loft (channel 50). It is getting it's moneys worth of play, I have put it on repeatedly and haven't come close to tiring of it. These guys are talented musicians and poets and in a sea of nothing to say these guys are above the waves and deserve to be seen, maybe you will spot them when you pass by and take 'em on board too.

Inventive AND harmonious

The Guggenheim Grotto does everything musically and with the originality that we demand of independent songwriters and performers. Wonderful to find this alive and well.

Fresh stick with you music all pieces great

While I generally do not care about CD packaging. This is stunning. The hard cover, personal write ups , and comic illustration of one of their songs enhances the experience. Great new talent

Can't Stop Listening

Already listened to it about 20 times and I'm still in awe over how completely excellent each and every song is (Yes, I listen to the complete CD start to finish!) The lyrics are beautiful, the melodies memorable. Can't get the tunes out of my head! I highly recommend this CD.

author: KevinEvery once in awhile an artist(s) enters the music scene with that something special quality. Ray LaMontagne did a couple of years back (2004), Damien Rice (2002), a few years prior. The Guggenheim Grotto (2005) have that same something special. Honest, raw, intelligent folk music and a beautiful little gem of a record. I know CD Baby has sold quite a few discs by two outstanding talents/artists: Joe Purdy and Alexi Murdoch. Make this the next one!
