Vince Guaraldi and The Lost Cues form the Charlie Brown TV Specials
author: JeanWow! This is a fun new CD from Vince Guaraldi. I love Vince Guaraldi's stylish compositions on the Wurlitzer electric piano as well as the duet of the different pianos on There's No Time For Love, Charlie Brown. This is another great album! I can never get enough of Vince Guaraldi or The Peanuts Specials Music he created.
PEANUTS
author: PenvilleThis is a real great music for a music-fan. Especially when the music-fan is interested in PEANUTS or Snoopy. I cannot believe I remember <Little Birdie>'s ending tune, and I was suprised when I found this site, because my favourite <Little Birdie> was on the top of the song list. Of course, that didn't mean anything, but the dream of my music-hearing was achieved of this album. I love this album.
Great!
author: Chayeon YangI am a fan of PEANUTS. I came into this site by a blog, and I LOVE this songs very much!
Found after twenty years of searching.
author: b26354I watched the Charlie Brown films as a kid and found myself humming one tune in particular well into later life. Cover versions of Little Birdie were ok, but never as good as what I remembered. This cd gives me that back, plus Centrecourt and Motocross, 2 of the greatest themes ever on tv. Add 2 versions of Joe Cool, a Peppermint Patty and I'm a very happy chappy! Now, if I can just find the Birdie instrumental...
Dr. Funk Really Gets in a Groove
author: RonFor Peanuts fans, this is a treat! This is the music Vince Guaraldi worked on in the early 1970's for the Peanuts specials. During this time, he started using the electric piano creating a more funkier sound. I never thought this music would ever come out and I'm so thankful for Dave Guaraldi for bringing his late father's music to light! The highlights include: Little Birdie from the Thanksgiving Special and it's a real gem. Joe Cool(both versions), but mainly the vocal version. There are some added brass making it more funky than before. The man was simply a genius! Pitkin Country Blues has some really funky bits in the music. African Sleigh Ride is very exotic and cool. Incumbent Waltz and Peppermint Patty are nice songs, but a bit short. The only song I wasn't too impressed with was There's No Time For Love, Charlie Brown. They should of had the version they used on the beginning and ending of that cartoon. There's talk of a volume 2 coming out in the future sometime. I can't wait, because in my opinion, this was the most creative time in Vince Guaraldi's music and his genius shines throughout this CD.
