Groyse Metzi'e is a band that brings the new out of the old. A collective of borderline personalities with rare musical gifts and a flair for jewish spirituality, "Groyse Metzi'e" combines the power, groove and flexebility of today's international musical scene with the depth and purity of jewish "Nigunim" - the musical way to connect with the creator and become as one with all of creation. with musical styles ranging from break-beat to dub, funk, ethnic and jazz. We come to bring new life to timeless music and hopefully bring a smile and a tear to anywhere hearts are opening all over the world...
NEW: Groyse Metzi'e track "Hey" was featured in the new JDUB records compilation - "Rooftop Roots Vol. II"

Groyse Metsi'e
author: Sylvie BoisvertLove it. Energetic, wild, original. Just love listening and discovering it all. What a great “upgraded” heritage.
Great stuff
author: ElieSmooth improv, great musicians, great feeling - gives Klezmer a modern and fun feel. Although I wish Birkat Kohanim was longer than 1.5 mins, and they have a great live version online of "Oy Gevalt" which is better than their recorded version.

Captures the diversity of Judiasm through song!

Your music is unique and beautiful. Take care and I wish you all the best. Love, Nica
absolutely adorable
author: Jovanovic IgorI must admit I'm a fan of everything that comes from Israel, let alone klezmer and other music originating from this great country. Your music is devastatingly fresh, engages both the heart and mind of the listener. I don't know about others, but you certainly warmed my heart with your tunes.
All Around the World
author: chrissittonFresh and original. Truly world music because it mixes styles of music from all over the world.
Your shit is tight!
author: Tim SparksHey Groysie Metsie, I just listened to Mine Shtetil. I am delighted to discover your band . How do you say "Your shit is tight!' in Hebrew? Seriously, I can only think of superlatives to describe your music. Much Love, Tim

SHALOM! I have a 2 years "old" nephew, his name is Isaac! And believe me, he is the most "fanathik" fan of U guys! Every day, many, many time, he must listen the "man with the violin", in the song "HEY"! Be very blessed for that! It"s a really "color" in our life!
the internet makes this?!
author: JustinWhile the internet has always seemed to be a welcoming host for cookie-cutter emo bands and the electronic outpourings of every kid with a synthesizer, a bedroom and a lot of time to kill, I have never known it to host such fabulously inventive and appealing music. It seems that I still have some online exploring to do. I will not attempt to deny that I am prone to hyperbole and exaggeration at times, but your music excites me so much that any outlandish turns of phrase or apparent insincerity are really just poorly-stated expressions of earnest appreciation.
Modernity and traditions melts here into building a special atmosphere, well dosed and well composed, where every detail is in the right place. The high energetic Klezmer of the other track here is temperated by the slow rock ballad (almost floydish for the atmosphere), showing to the world you may play every genre you want. Great work once, musically speaking!

That's the way I like it! You're mixing Hasidi music with sound of Rock - heavy metal (with the electric guitar), Yaman melodies and other elements that make me wonna listen to your music even though I'm a fun of pop-music
Amazing!
author: ryanThis is really phenominal stuff, guys! Incredibly spiritual, transparent, emotional playing- especially from the violinist. These guys really deserve to be legendary- the songcraft, the skill, the emotion, the style, the innovation, and... the emotion! seriously inspiring! ive never heard anything like it. Buy everything they ever release! honestly- it's worth it!
great songs with beautiful moods
author: Batpulse - Global Moderator (Progressive Rock Forum - Melo's ProOooooohh Like it! Must admit when I first started listening to it I was a bit unsure of the singing. Only because that particular style is a bit alien to me. So as I could not understand what you were singing, I just listened to the voice as another instrument and then it was cool and very moody. Loved it once I got in to it. There is some incredibly good timing here and some great musician ship. Loved that bit of guitar in my right ear on the first track. Drums and bass work effortlessly together , would have liked to have heard the drums brought up in the mix a bit louder drums, other than that great songs with beautiful moods. My favourute track is the last track "Ki Hilatza". Not because it is sung in english (almost sounds cockney!)It was the mix of sounds, the muted trumpet is a master stroke, it put me in mind of Red Snapper whom I love to bits. To me it encompasses everything I like about this kind of mystical music, for that to me is indeed what it is. A lot of thought and passion has gone in to these songs and I think that they are great. You must have been working together for a long time to achieve that complexity while making it sound effortless. Good Stuff well done
