notes
Groovy Judy is an artist who loves inspiring people to be the best they can be, encourage people to love one another, laugh, spread peace, love, and enjoy life.
She's embraced the fun and spirit of the late 60's and early 70's and put it into her music, colorful dress, outrageous hats and upbeat personality. Her main musical influences are Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and Sly & The Family Stone and the messages in her music are about relationships, communication, peace, love, and improving society.
The first song on the CD, Jimi's Sister, is about Judy's musical mentor, Jimi Hendrix. She draws a lot of inspiration from not only his guitar playing and songwriting, but also the colorful way he dressed, and his overall groovy vibe. If Jimi had a rocking, groovy guitar slinging sister in San Francisco, it would be Groovy Judy!
When I Want U
A seductive little tune about Judy's husband Pete and when they were dating. He pretty much swept her off her feet and she was hooked. He's always been there for her as a friend, lover, companion, and supporter and she loves him very much.
Hey Dad
This song is a tribute to Judy's Dad, who passed away from cancer at the tender age of 60. He was a great man and had a great influence on her to be a responsible and kind person. Towards the end of his life, they saw each other usually on holidays or special get togethers, but they used to talk a lot on the phone. She misses him very much and she thinks of him often, especially when she perform this song.

Rockin' lady guitar-slinger with a positive message
author: Michael P. DawsonGroovy Judy rocks hard and joyfully on her debut CD, from the punchy Hendrix tribute Jimi's Sister to the slinky, sexy riffs of We Can Make Music and the juicy funk of When I Want U. She can mellow out as well, as on the wistful Peace and Love and the quirky, almost orchestral Heaven. But my favorite track here is Forgive, with its solid, horn-led groove and a message I can never hear too often.
Spicey, rockin, and soulful. Keep the creative energies flowing.
