notes

Greg Osgood presents melodies that are carefully blended against a backdrop of beautiful keyboard-fingered strings and well-synced bass and drums. Reminiscent of influences such as Lionel Richie, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles and Tyrone Davis, who first appeared on the Soul Train television series back in the '70s, His innovative music ranges from hard and romantic blues to foot-shuffling, high-energy funk and soul blues hits, all powered by an emotional live performance.

"Back To Back", Osgood's 2002 album release featured the song "The Good Is In The Man" which later went on to occupy the #1 music chart in 2007. "Never Gonna Give You Up" ranked #2, followed by Beale Street Blues at #3.
His music has been heard on radio stations across America since his debut album "Amour" in 1995. This album featured the popular song "All Night Long", the first to receive artist royalties. Though he has shared the stage with The Chilities, Bloodstone, The Delfonics, he still enjoys a surprise jam session with both local and non-local contemporaries.

Greg Osgood was somehow born into music. He remembers his mother singing to him in the womb and many of his friends still say he can remember a song forever. Not being surrounded by notable names, stars and legends, he chose the high road, receiving musical instruction at age five and went on to learn piano and keyboard. Having toured with Purple Haze in the early '80s, he was no novice to the live stage. As he broadened his musical knowledge and abilities, he began developing skills that would enable him to entertain in a way that only a true master could. Notwithstanding his vocal skills, he also writes, records, performs, arranges and produces his own music.

Though he has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., and toured several forgeign countries, he has found much contentment performing in and around Jackson, Mississippi's Malaco Records.

Whether for romance, relaxation or soothing meditation, this release "The Good Is In The Man", prepares the listener for a emotional moment of pleasure.

[Greg Osgood] is a member of the Vicksburg Blues Society (formerly Willie Dixon Blues Society) that hosts the jam session at Ameristar Casino in Vicksburg, Ms. [He is featured every first Tuesday monthly] on keyboards/vocals. Cee Blaque [is also featured] on vocals/harp. Cee Blaque and her partner Greg Osgood are poised on the brink of something great in Vicksburg. And they are destined to make it big as God's loving hand extends to make this beautiful young flower blossom!

"We'd like to make a bold statement about [Vicksburg, Ms]. Undoubtedly some excellent local artists have slipped through the cracks." Among such is highly recommended southern soul/blues artist Greg Osgood. His latest CD includes The Good Is In The Man.[It's great!]

I love this CD. I've listened to 4 songs and they all impressed me. I like smooth vocals and clean lyrics. "the good is in the man" makes a lot of sense. I can relate to the quality of the singer and the mood of the songs are nice.
