This duet recording by guitarist Gregory James and bassist Kai Eckhardt is a series of melodic twists and turns that sound like one instrument. Frederique leads with a tender inviting embrace. Contrast that with the haunting staccato guitar, the sinister 8th note pattern that James lays down on Irene, and the dark mood they so skillfully build on Nuno. Eckhardt's lyrical bass work both embellishes and drives the action.

Biographies:
Kai Eckhardt is among the decade's most original voices on bass. He has toured with the legendary John McLaughlin Trio, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Trilok Gurtu Trio and the band Garaj Mahal.
Gregory James' versatility as a guitarist and musician has remained without compromise: Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Jean Luc Ponty and Chico Hamilton are among those that he's played with. Today James continues to write and assemble musical talent to produce fresh, improvised jazz.
