It's Great!
author: LexiI love this album, and the play is even better. it's in Fallbrook, CA for the next 2 weekends and I'm doing the spotlights for it. If you like the album, I seriously reccomend coming to see it at The Mission Theater. That is, if you live anywhere remotely close to here
Total Awsome
author: Kathryn AdcockBought this CD for my 5th grade granddaughter. It is now her favorite and I don't mind listening to it. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy it. I can truly say "Been there, done that" from all aspects portrayed in this delightful musical, from LuAnn to her parents. I'd love to see a stage production of it. Greg Evans is a man of many talents.
Grease/esque
author: DannyFun up-beat music styles. Great to go along with all the characters of the comic strip. Like all of the series of events with Luann, the musical brings the characters to life with cool situations that are strung together and solved at the end. Cant wait for the sequel!!!
Ultimate Perfection!
author: william croteauThe perfect album, hilarious, light, fast, catchy, creative! Glad I bought it! An album that you could listen to numerous times and it NEVER gets old! Track #23 gets to you on an emotional level! The album captures the characters perfectly! The only thing that I was disapointed is that the character of Crystal (Tiffany's best friend) didn't have any solo lines.......other than that, ultimate perfection!
The comic strip comes alive in song
author: Michael S RussellFrom the booklet - Music and lyrics by Greg Evans. Originally produced by Center ARTES at Cal State San Marcos with the Rancho Buena Vista High School Performing Arts Department. Review - The songs and performance are very much in keeping with the comic strip. If you like the comic strip, you will probably like this album. Many of the songs have minimal instrumentation, usually just a piano or a couple other instruments. Performed by a teenage cast. Some of my favourite songs include: (3) Summer's Here. - A celebration of summer break. (4) Are We Beautiful Yet? - A gymnastic march about the hard work girls go through to look good. (10) Confusion - A great study of the paradoxes of life. (16) Ode to the Mall - Done in a church liturgy style that makes the mall like a cathedral. (17) Do You Hate Me Cuz I'm Beautiful? - A flirty song with a nice beat that exposes whats under the facade. Also featured in the comic strip. (19) You're My Daughter - A sweet duet. My only complaint is the singers (Luann and Mom) sounded so alike that it was hard to tell the dialogue that was taking place.
