Read a review of Essays & Contemplations by senior reviewer David Kidney at www.greenmanreview.com. Highlights:
"The music here is a blend of soft jazz and the sort of soundscapes that were found in the progressive rock of another decade. ... Pat Metheny is an influence on Clinton's guitar playing."
"'City Nights' is a moody guitar piece showcasing Clinton's fretwork. Very tasty."
"Again Clinton's guitar is the standout instrument, perfectly representing the contrasting moods; first thoughtful and sad, then lifting the spirit in hopefulness."

Progressive Jazz/Rock at its best!
author: Harlan SmihThis album reminds of some of my favorite fusion/prog-rock artists without being derivative in the slightest. If you enjoy Yes, Rush, Mahivishnu Orchestra, King Crimson or Weather Report, than this album is for you. Truly innovative.
Musical Wonderland
author: Ricky HallEssays & Contemplations is a musical wonderland of tasty arrangements and bold melodies. As a musician and song writer, I found myself fully engaged in the listening. Greg Clinton has a beautiful project that is a joy to listen to and more importantly put in the car during a long trip. This is an album worth having and sharing with others. I highly recommend it to all music lovers and players sacred and secular. It’s rich!
Indescribably amazing
author: Teng Leang KhooWhat can I say.. It is a phenomenal CD. A refreshing change with a wonderful touch of originality. Can't get a better deal than this.
An original ecclectic collection performed with heart and finesse.
author: Rick WootenThis collection of music is a rare find. It is original, thoughtful music from the heart, but at the same time an ecclectic mix performed with clarity and finesse. Like other fine music each listening reveals new layers, nuances and and surprises - a treat for the mind and soul.
Refreshing, fantastic imagination!
author: Eddie BurnetteThis is one of the few cd's I can listen to every day. This record was done with such taste and wonderful textures that you are sure to love the musical journey it will take you on.
