psychedelic rock album of all time
once upon a time, as the dawn mists rolled in over the glassy sea of swansea bay, four figures stood on the shore, taking in the cosmic peace.
those four figures were the green inspiration band, possibly the greatest undiscovered heavy psychedelic rock band ever.
brought together by destiny in the inspirational surroundings of the gower pensinsula, south wales, these four individuals would write some of the most powerful, moving and sometimes chilling rock music ever known.
tim atkinson, steve griffiths, sam miller and andy hunt made up the powerhouse that was the greens. in a few short months, the band commanded a loyal following, gigs around the country including the renowned george robey in london, and a masterpiece of a studio album - "forward into beyond".
although the band did record some further material, it is this, their first recording - a double studio album - for which they are most likely to be remembered.
"forward into beyond" is the ultimate trip through the psyche, and not for the faint-hearted. angels and demons guide the listener on a journey through his or her own consciousness, leaving a lasting experience which has become a permanent part of all who have known the green inspiration band.
