We Bleed Maroon is the newest tradition at Texas A&M. “A beautiful tribute to a great University. What memories came flooding in. A definite must hear for every Aggie.”

notes

The long anticipated song by Granger Smith is now released. “We Bleed Maroon,” the ballad that has taken the Aggie Network by force is available for purchase on a 5 song CD with a bonus live at the Texas Hall of Fame recording of “Mockingbird Rd.” Proceeds from the album go to the “We Bleed Maroon Scholarship Fund.”

Roger Garrett, esteemed program director at 98.3FM KORA in College Station remarked, “In all of my years in radio, no song has captured an audience so quickly and so emotionally as We Bleed Maroon.” Others have said,

“A beautiful tribute to a great University. What memories came flooding in! A definite must hear for every Aggie.”

“This is absolutely amazing. It's so hard to explain these things to people that aren't a part of this place...this town…this school…this tradition…this spirit. I'm in awe! It makes me proud to be where I am, engulfed in all that is Texas A&M.”

“This is truly a wonderful song! It captures what can't be explained from the inside.”

“This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. It describes a feeling that is only felt when you have experienced being an Aggie.”

“I heard this at work and it made me cry at my desk. Every word of this song reflects every memory I have of that place.”

“I am at a loss for words. It captured my days at A&M to the T!”

We had the opportunity to see and hear Granger Smith at Texas A&M on Sunday, October 16th. We Bleed Maroon is the best song ever! Everyone jumped up and swayed back and forth. I am so proud that my son and future daughter-in-law insisted on attending Texas A&M University so that I was able to take part in some of the meaningful traditions. I can not wait for the song "Five More Minutes" to be released. I'll be the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be knocking on his door if they haven't already. Gig Em Granger! Congraduations on your Top Ten Single.

Captures Aggieland perfectly. I am an Aggie Mom and am so proud of my Aggie Son and so grateful for all that Aggieland has come to mean to our family. Gig 'Em Granger!!

I ordered 3, gave 2 away; then got one as a gift and gave 3rd one away. We ALL love this--ordered it for the title song which is stirring and produces so many memories. Pleased to hear the other songs as well--shows this is a great artist. Lyrics, tunes, instrumentation are wonderful. Can't wait to hear more about him.

  • I grew to really like this song

Country is *not* my favorite genre of music, but I had to get this song because of the A&M connection. I listened to an early version that had leaked on the Internet; but the one on the CD is better as it has a great climax where members of the class of 2007 sing the chorus along with Granger. The rest of the CD is excellent as well, with "What Would Jesse James Say" serving as a muscular opener.

  • Great song about TAMU and E-2.
    author: Ric Clark

My son, who is in E-2 as well, played this song for me and I am not much of a CW fan, but this guy can really sing. This song is exactly what my son says that TAMU, and E-2 is all about. Keep it up their Granger....

The title song is great. Even a non-Aggie will appreciate the good music, but the words will literally bring full grown, man size Aggies to tears. Way to go Granger!! New Army done good!!
