notes
NY Post weekly picks:
"...For a more frenzied affair, head to Go To Town at the Coral Room... An unsigned NYC act, this foursome is fronted by brass-in-pocket blonde Laura Schurich who kicks it on the mike with Chrissie Hynde vocals backed by furious guitars. "Devastating," from their new EP is an irresistible dance rock tune." -- Mary Huhn; New York Post 'Playlist' column
"...they quite simply rock like bastards. Picture a cross between The Pretenders and Joan Jett on one hand ...and Gang of Four on the other... Impressive even at only their second gig, the past six months have seen Go To Town develop a tight set of original material. With recording done at The Walkmen's Marcata Studios, and label showcases in progress, this lot are young-ins to watch out for."----Joshua Kruter, Rock Feedback
"... I listen to so many EPs, that I wish they would give us a little more. Especially when the songs are as appetizing as this 5 song EP. ...Raspy female vocals keep the NYC sound real, while the swinging guitar/bass keep the songs rocking..." - Lio, Crashin' In
"...Before you know it, you're addicted and willing to do anything to hear that "Bow Tie Daddy" ditty again. It isn't pure rock, but it's not pure New-Wave-revivalism either...There are musical chops here which should not be messed with, talent which goes beyond mere imitation or riddled with influences. The passion which this band has for what they do comes through to you on their 5-song EP loud and clear. The kicker to this all? GTT was in fact produced by none other than that guru made famous by The Strokes, JP Bowersock. Sly indeed." GTT's EP ranked #8 on Like A Rolling Stone's 'Top of the Pops 10' ----- Sara, Like A Rolling Stone
"Go To Town are probably the best band in the world... They play catchy trash-blues rock... the good music just comes naturally... Oh, everyone in this band is so pretty, it's devastating." ----- Sheri Barclay, That's What I Call Hits

Jump About
author: PeterThis is what the phrase bopping along is all about. They need a album that never stops, because this is only enough songs to let me know I'm addicted.
Music to my ears!
What a huge surprise from such a short EP...the voice, the music, the lyrics and the guitar all work together to make one of the best CD's I have heard in ages.
rock out with yer cock out!!!!!!!!!!
author: miss elieshathank you for actually knowing how to play yer instruments ans paying a only bit of attention to yer hairdo ...my leg keeps pumping and i can't take my eyes of the band. good rhythm section!!!!! that girl can sing x0x0x0x0x
Hell Yeah.
author: Jack FegansThe only thing wrong with this CD is that it's too short. Five songs just isn't enough. I love the snarky-but-sexy vibe. Check out the last track, "Passing Through" - totally hot.
These guys really pick me up when I'm down
author: Jonathan R. RobinsonCan't get enough of that sound! It's like rock with a kick. This demo delivers solid whiskey rock with sultry vocals. The lead singer sounds like all of the woman Iggy Pop wishes he was.
