"When our first daughter Jordan was born, bedtime was quite challenging for us. I began looking for ways to help calm and relax her (and me!). I looked to music. The trouble was, most of music I found had the opposite effect because it was very bright and cheerful. I really wanted music that was of high quality that soothed and comforted. That was when the idea occurred to me-Get Dave and Jeff into the studio!"

The Solution had all the elegance of utter, and obvious, simplicity. "As we began developing Unique's original idea, we were amazed how encouraging and enthusiastic our friends and colleagues were," says Jeff Koz, who produced four of the Golden Slumbers standouts with his brother, saxophonist Dave Koz.

Golden Slumbers: A Father's Lullaby is a collection of old, new and unexpected lullabies - from "When You Wish Upon A Star" and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to "Blackbird" and "Isn't She Lovely" - produced and performed by the likes of Rick Braun, Norman Brown, David Benoit, Brian Culbertson, Peter White and a host of others, including, of course, Jeff Koz and Dave Koz.

But aside from being an all-star aggregate of top instrumentalist artists, Golden Slumbers is also a heaven sent gift to every harried parent who ever rocked the cradle of their wide-awake bundle of joy at three o'clock in the morning.     With a dual purpose as a soothing childrens' lullaby album and adults' easy listening album, Golden Slumbers gives one more reason why parents can enjoy their kids music. With an all-star roster of Smooth Jazz Award winners, including Dave Koz, David Benoit and Peter White, you won't be tolerating candy-coated, bubbly baby frill. I highly recommend this album for not just wiggly tots but equally for depleted stressaholics of any age who need an album to cozy up to. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and revel in this tasteful, sleep-inducing album- uh, and remember to step aside from the power tools and heavy machinery beforehand.

    This is serious slumber music for all ages. Great to play for little ones so they will grow up with the right kind of music appreciation and wonderful for the calming effect on the grown-ups. I highly recommend it.
