notes
My name is Gloria Miller and I am a singer/songwriter specializing in creating and performing Jazz, R&B, and Soul music combining the innocence of music from the 30's and 40's with the relevance of current music that goes beyond the romantic to the real issues that we all face. I’m at a place where the walls are down and there's “just Glo” and that intimacy is what I bring to every performance. If there’s an emotion to be felt, we’ll experience it together!
Bio:
Gloria’s philosophy is that you can never have too much romance in your life. This is evident in her performances from the first note she sings clear through to the last! If she had her way, life would be a place set in black & white where men and women dressed to the nines and lived their lives to an orchestral soundtrack! Well, for the length of Gloria’s show you are transported to this place with a few flash forwards to modern times covering a range of genres featuring songs by Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, Michael Buble, Audra McDonald and many other favorites.
Gloria has a universal style with a fun and upbeat personality that consistently appeals to audiences across the globe. People leave her shows feeling like they have just spent an evening at a good friend’s house sharing stories about family and love while enjoying great music and great company!
Gloria began her professional career as a Gospel singer and has performed in concert around the world with such Gospel greats as DeLeon Richards, Ron Kenoly and Helen Baylor. In 1989 she released her first solo recording, He Loves Me, and followed up that release with Forever With You in 1996. This independent release received national attention when Gloria performed the title song during Gospel Music Week in Nashville, landing her a distribution deal with Heaven’s Eyes Records. Gloria wrote and co-produced both recordings.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois Gloria took a break from her Gospel career to pursue opportunities in musical theater, and in 1999 ended up in Orlando, Florida working for Disney as a lead singer in their stage shows. From there she has worked as a headliner for several major cruise companies including Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines. Gloria also performs regularly around her new hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin either solo or with The Glo Trio!
