Glenn Miller (1904-1944) created a personal and distinctive big band sound which remained unique in the history of swing and jazz bands. He worked with the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra and recorded his first hit in 1935 on the Columbia label. His golden years - 1939 to 1942 - see his orchestra achieve several Top Ten hits and a series of engagements for live performances. Among his immortal hits are titles such as "Moonlight Serenade", "In the Mood", "Chattanooga Choo Choo", all collected onto this double cd set.
