Wine-drunk rock with wall of sound production, spanning frantic indie pop to glossed out shoegazing ether.

notes

Once upon a time, The Glad Version lived in a cottage in the woods. One day a girl named Goldilocks stopped by the cottage. The Glad Version asked her if she would like a bowl of porridge. She said she would rather go for a walk. Goldilocks talked for a long time about the things that made her feel down. Finally, she felt better. The Glad Version wrote a song about it.

  • THIS BAND ROCKS
    author: Mike

This CD is awesome, my friend is the cousin of the singer or something, and that's how i found out about it. I listened to it once, and had to have it. So i ordered it and it was here pretty quick. This CD rocks and i hope this band makes more cd's.

This CD was great. Very well played. The guitar is crisp, clean and loud and obnoxious when it needs to be. Percussion is precise and domineering, putting the songs through the transistions smoothly. Great CD

  • Knocked my socks off!
    author: B. Bremer

This album was long anticipated and now that I have it, I am hearing it differently with each rotation of the 10 songs. Each time, I find something else I like. The sound is honest, balanced, and inspiring when you least expect it. Very glad to say I knew them in college. Simply amazing.

  • the definitive soundtrack to your quarter-life crisis
    author: Stephen Patrick

The Glad Version's latest CD is the definitive soundtrack to your quarter-life crisis. These songs' lyrics shoot straight from their heart and into yours, relating to anyone who is still on the rigorous persuit of happiness and meaning. The melodic, yet powerful gutiar riffs bleed emotion while the pulse of the bass and drums pump it out. Discover that you are in good company with the Glad Version's Smile Pretty Make Nice!

  • Fantastic Emo Rock CD
    author: Barrett

I ordered this cd a week or two ago and have been playing non stop ever since. $10 was definitely a very small price to pay for such a treasure. Perhaps the best part of the cd is the lyrics. These guys have definitely crafted their lyrics into a thought provoking medley of almost every emotion. The best part is that I think almost everyone can identify these songs with occurences that might have happened in their own lives. Put that on top of some amazing guitar riffs and a driving drum beat and you have a winner that anyone and everyone can enjoy. Shame on you if you don't buy this disc.
