notes
Groove, style, intelligence, and flow are essential descriptions to Global Funk Council's debut CD, Keep On Pushin'. Anthony Smith created a compositional gem from which extraordinary musicianship elicits inspirational music. Variety, complexity and groove are true testaments to Keep On Pushin'. Initial listening stimulates the senses and the experienced ear will feel the vibe and classify this studio effort in line with genre heavyweights. Keep On Pushin' begins ferociously funkified with ripping riffs and thick rhythm. The smooth segues of the title track usher the listener through an auditory journey of stellar proportions. Keep On Pushin' harmoniously flows from track to track via excellent composition, talented musicianship, and intelligent lyrics. Solid rhythm, groovin' horn lines, and keyboard wizardry leave you wanting more and wishing this was a double disc. Keeping the party moving, transcending reality, or just plain relaxing after the daily grind, Keep On Pushin' has the flexibility to perfectly fit any listening situation and deliver the goods.

jazz funk horn band like no other!
author: jsweetpeaI'm a horn band fanatic. My favorite horn band of all time is Dreams with Randy Brecker; this cd comes in a close second. think Dreams with splashes of Herbie Hancock's keyboard;or if Herbie Hancock decided to join Dreams to contribute his funky keys; you get the picture. truly inspiring stuff.
A Breath of Fresh & Funky AIr
author: MNFUNKAdmission: I'm a "horn band" afficianado. My first listening to this CD brought me smiles at each cut. This reminds me of Sons of Champlin, Dreams, etc. Extended cuts, interesting lines & grooves. Very, very cool.
Superb Funky Grooves
author: Mohammad "Ru" RahmanThis is an absolutely fantastic jazz funk album that exploded out of my stereo. A thumping bass line worthy of Phil Lesh propels an amazingly groovy piece of work. A perfect party record that will have people dancing for hours.
