notes
Gerald Lee Ames was raised in the western ranch settings of Okanogan County in the eastern part of Washington State.
A guitar musician from the age of 5, Gerald has recorded on multiple recording projects in the Seattle area through out the 80's and 90's, and recorded in premier 24 track studios of Mushroom studio Vancouver BC, Seattle's Ironwood Studios, Crow Studios, and newest release in Puyallup Records Co. own digital studio.
A veteran of the live stage performance thoughout the state of Washington, Gerald has warmed up for national acts as diverse as John Caferty and the Beaver Brown band to rock metal groups like Seattle's RAIL.
The 2006 release "Open Roads" is about finding personal freedom, love lost, love gained, trucks, western cavalry, and swing dancing. One of the more prominent tracks is a song entitled "You bring me home to love again." GLA delivers this powerful track as a dedication to everyone who serves our nation with Military and public service.
"Single Action Army Colt" is a fictional song in theme of the true life 1874 antique Custer Colt prop held by GLA during the original 2006 album cover photo session. (more info and photos about this historic SAA available at www.geraldleeames.com)
One can easily appreciate the melodic yet weathered vocal style of GLA. The writing talent is clear in the songs and the overall presentation is re-freshingly straight to the point.
"We've been able to make a little money for the charity portion of this journey (Salute America's Heroes), say hello to some new friends and reach out to folks on an emotional level. All simple, real stuff, and that's what it is all about." GLA
Gerald Lee Ames is currently recording the highly anticipated follow up album to Open Roads, due for release in early 2007. (Google Search Gerald Lee Ames for more info)
