The Geoffro Cause - best described as a "twisted mixture of funk-rock,
reggae, and hip-hop" is a sound that will remain in your brain one way
or another. The original band line-up officially formed in 2003 when
songwriter Geoff Earley aka "Geoffro" (Cleveland, OH) hooked up with
drummer Tad Sutton (Woodbridge, VA) in the college scene of Boston,
MA. With a vast catalog of music already written, the two were determined to bring a new "live-drummer" sound to Geoffro's funky and hip-hop oriented jams. Immediately people were diggin' this fresh, yet familiar party sound as the Cause started playing out at small venues, and a house party here and there in Beantown. After several years of personal growth and continuous writing, Geoffro moved to Los Angeles, CA to bring the sound out to the opposite coast. As a result, a new mature live sound has evolved, along with fresh studio and songwriting ideas. If you ever wanted to hear an album that is consistently refreshing to the ears, "This Was" will keep you captivated throughout the whole night. The Geoffro Cause delivers a constant flow of hip-party music that carries insightful, witty, and often introspective lyrics into head-nodding grooves to keep the people movin.
