Band leader Jesse Gelber provides original tunes and arrangements of standards, ranging from the sophisticated Duke Ellington to the soulful Aretha Franklin to the cool of Miles Davis. You can hear them on their latest release Songs in Blue or in New York's finest jazz venues. Note - Also look for the band under the name of their alter ego: The Swing Doctors.

Jesse Gelber & Aisha Hosley are both graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music where they first started performing their mixture of jazz and blues seven years ago. Jesse has won many awards and distinctions, including a 1997 ASCAP Young Composer's Award, and first place in the 1992 Marvin Wolff Jazz Piano Competition. Aisha has also won many accolades for her singing. The New York Daily News calls Aisha's voice "tremendous" and praises her performance in For the Love of My Black Woman. Along with Theodore Bikel, Aisha was a featured artist in the PBS production of A Taste of Passover, a production that also featured many of Jesse's arrangements. Jesse and Aisha collaborated on the show a Delhi-Mix, which The New York Times called a "jolly gathering," "full of bright ideas," and "facinating to watch." Perfomed at the Kaye Playhouse, Delhi-Mix featured Aisha's vocals, under the musical direction of Jesse Gelber. Most recently, Jesse and Aisha worked togeather in a perfomance of Jesse's award winning opera, Broad Stripes and Brights Stars, at La MaMa Theater.
